If you are a fan of Sailormoon and a fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer you will notice the obvious similarities between the two shows. Both have a title character who is thrust into her destiny and both have an older advisor. (Luna in BSSM, Giles on Buffy.) Both have a group of friends who help them in their battles. (The Sailor Senshi, the Scooby gang on Buffy.) Both die at the hands of their arch enemy in the first season but are revived. (Sailormoon dies after killing Metallia, Buffy is killed by the Master.) Both have boyfriends who temporarily turn evil. (Evil Endymion, Angel.) Both girls deal with a little girl who becomes part of their everyday lives. (Chibi-usa poses as Usagi's cousin, Dawn poses as Buffy's sister.)

The two shows have really become similar in the latest season of Buffy. It's very similar to the S season of Sailormoon. Both deal with the possible end of the world. Both feature a girl who is the key to the destruction. (Hotaru in BSSM, Dawn on Buffy.) The villian is a person who is possessing another person's body. (Glory possesses Ben on Buffy, Mistress 9 is possessing Hotaru in BSSM.) Both heroines are told by an older advisor (Uranus/Neptune, Giles) that they must kill the girl in order to save the world. Both feature someone sacrificing themselves in order to save the world. (Sailorsaturn, Buffy.)
