It is June 30, Chibi-Usa's birthday. Mamoru gives her a Sailormoon watch as a present. Inisde the watch is a locket where you put a picture of someone you love. He tells her that a figure in a cloak gave it to him. The next day at school, Chibi-Usa is upset when she sees everyone has one of the watches. She sees Hauka and Michiru who ask her about the Tanabata festival.

A cloaked figure comes up to Chibi-Usa and her friends and explain to them the legend of the Tanabata festival. There was a weaver girl named Vega who angered God. As punishment she was seperated from her husband and could only see him once a year. That day was July 7.

At midnight on July 7, Chibi-Usa is in bed when her watch opens and a light shines from it.  A voice tells her to gather at the park. She's gets caught in a trance but Diana wakes her up. They go to the park to see what is happening.

A group of girls are gathered. The cloaked figure from before stands in the middle. She tells the girls not to trust men. Chibi-Usa transforms and tells her she is wrong. The figure removes her cloak. She is pretending to be Sailormoon to influence the girls, but Sailor Chibimoon says Sailormoon wouldn't have such fat legs.

The woman starts crying and says she is the incarnation of the weaver girl, Vega. She explains that her husband doesn't want to see her cause she's no longer pretty. The other two woman with Vega say that they will take the energy of young children to give to her. Chibimoon uses her "Pink Sugar Heart Attack" to destroy them and all of the watches.Vega's husband, Altair, then appears. He says he doesn't want her to hate him and that pretty girls are nice but his wife is the best.

Later on Chibi-Usa tells Usagi and Mamoru what happened.
Mamoru offers to buy her another present, anything she wants. Chibi-Usa answers that she wants a pearl and gold pendant and that she loves Mamoru having money. Mamoru groans.
