Paint Shop Pro 6 Tips
When I first got PSP 6 I had no clue what to do with it. Here's a few tutorials to make things easier for you.
Getting Curved Text-Go to the Draw tool and right click on it. Select Tool Options and then select Freehand Line. On a blank picture draw a curved line to your liking, then select Text. Click on the line and a little curve line should appear with the Text prompt. Left click and then type your text. Make sure you have Vector and Antialias checked for your text. When it shows up it should follow the curved line. If you want to get rid of the line go to Layer Palette. Click on the plus sign beside Layer 1. Hit the little eyeglass thing beside the text that says "Freehand Line" and the line will not show up on the picture
Putting Stars and Arrows on your Pictures-Right click on the Preset Shapes tool. Select Tool Options. In the drop down box pick Star 1, Star 2, or Arrow 1, Arrow 2. Now you can put different shapes on your picture.
Making an Image Lighter-Open the picture you want to lighten and copy and paste it as a new image. Then go to Image>>Adjust>>Gamma Correction. Move the arrows around until you have the picture as light as you want it.
Text Effects-PSP lets you do really cool things with text like this

To add a shadow to your text simply go to Image>>Effects>>Drop Shadow. Now to get the color around your text. First create a new image and make it the color you want the color around the text to be. Then type your text and make sure it's a floating selection. Then go to Selection>>Modify>>Expand. Select the number of pixels you want, 2 or 3 works good. Then copy and paste the image into another image.
I hoped those helped a little. They probably didn't though :P
