Tokyo… “Mamo-chan!” Usagi ran to her boyfriend with so much enthusiasm, she tripped and fell flat on her face. “Usako! Are you okay?” Mamoru tried to hide a chuckle, then leaned down to pick her up. “I’m fine…just a few bruises.” “So what’s up?” “Um, well…have you seen Mako-chan? She’s been missing.” “No, I haven’t. When did you see her last?” “Um, at Rei-chan’s temple. She was watching Rei-chan doing a fire reading, then got up to get some fresh air…then she just disappeared!” “Sounds like Negaverse trouble to me, Usako.” “It could be. But why would they want Mako-chan?” In a cave far from Tokyo… “Now I’ve got you, Sailor Jupiter!” The voice Makoto Kino heard was dark and creepy. She looked up to see a man, dressed in all blue. “You will be bait to capture the rest of the Sailor Senshi.” “Who…who are you?” She drowsily asked. She had been knocked out by something when she went outside to get air from Rei’s temple. Now she looked around to see the darkness of the cave. In front of her she saw a large, black orb. Next to it stood the man in blue. He looked familiar…but how? He had hair as black as the orb he was standing next to. But what really caught Mako’s attention was this man’s eyes. They were blue, but they seemed to change shade when he moved. ‘He looks like Mamo-san!’ She thought. ‘But it can’t be Mamo-kun, he’s at home with Usagi-chan.’ “Allow me to introduce myself. I am Lazuli. I have been sent here to capture you and the other Sailor Senshi make you all help my cause. And you are going to help me catch the rest of them.” “Never, you Nega-creep! JUPITER CRYSTAL POWER!!!” She was surrounded by lightning and transformed into Sailor Jupiter. Lazuli gathered a ball of energy in his hand and threw it at Sailor Jupiter. She ducked it gracefully. ‘Hmmm…this girl is smarter than I expected…quite beautiful, too,’ Lazuli thought. ‘Maybe if I get her to join my cause, I won’t need to capture the rest of the scouts.’ Lita stood there, wondering what was going through this guy’s head. “Are you gonna fight or what, you punk?” “No, I’m not, Sailor Senshi. That’s not what I’m here for. I’m here to take you back alive, not as corpses.” “And what if we don’t want to come back?” “Oh, I hope you will, since this influences all of our futures. But I should explain myself, since I am asking for your assistance.” He walked over to the orb and put his hand over it. It glowed bright blue and showed a scene of Crystal Tokyo. “I am a soldier of the future Crystal Tokyo. My father, Paxis, was the personal assistant to King Endymion. The Negaverse tried to attack King Endymion and Queen Serenity and my father tried to block them. The Negaverse killed him. When they tried to capture the royal family, Queen Serenity used her Moon Crystal to protect the castle, but the Negaverse captured my mother and myself. That explains my name. My real name is Eric. I was trained as a soldier in the Negaverse army but I always had felt there was something missing. I asked my mother why I felt this way, and she explained what had happened. I escaped from the clutches of the Negaverse when I was 18 and went back to Crystal Tokyo. King Endymion had me traine! d as a soldier. Then the Negaverse attacked again. This time the Crystal couldn’t protect the castle, and they captured Princess Serenity. The Queen told me to come here and ask for your help, because you all know Chibi-Usa from when she came here to save her mother. I’m so sorry I had to capture you like this. I didn’t think anyone would believe me if I’d just appeared and asked for help.” “But why did you capture me, and not Usagi-chan?” “Because you are the most beautiful person I have ever seen.” This made Mako blush. “I saw you and totally fell for you. I had hoped that you would be able to influence your friends to help me, but now I think I just want to take you back with me and forget this whole mission.” “I can try to get my friends to help you,” she replied. ‘He’s cute,’ she thought. ‘He does remind me a lot of Mamo-san, and he did say he captured me because I was the most beautiful one. But any guy will say that to get what they want.’ “About me going back with you…that’s debatable.” “Oh, you have a boyfriend?” “No, it just seems strange that you can like me at first sight. You barely know me.” “I’d like to get to know more about you.” Mako blushed again. “But we can save that for a later time. First we need to take care of the problem at hand.” “Yes. Take me back to my friends and I’ll talk to them.” “Whatever you wish.” Back in Tokyo… “Any sign of her?” “Not one, Luna. I’m starting to get scared.” Usagi lay down on her bed, afraid for her friend and comrade. Ami came in and sat on the floor, followed by Rei and Mina. Ami looked at Luna and Artemis, who were sitting next to Usagi on the bed. “Is there anything we can do to try and find her, Luna?” “Well, if she’s been taken by the Negaverse, all we can do is wait to see what they do next.” Just then, a dark shadow appeared in Usagi’s room. He had black hair and bright blue eyes, and Sailor Jupiter was standing right next to him, calm. “Who are you? And what have you done to Sailor Jupiter?” Usagi asked angrily. “My name is Eric, and don’t worry. Your friend is safe. I did not come here to harm her, or you. I need your help. Please meet me behind the video arcade in an hour.” Then he disappeared. “What do you think, Luna?” Amy asked. “I don’t know, but you should be prepared for whatever this man is up to.” Behind the Arcade… Sailors Venus, Mars, Mercury and Moon and Tuxedo Kamen stood in the alley behind the arcade, waiting for the mystery man to appear. “What do you think this guy wants, Rei-chan?” Mina asked her friend. “I don’t know…but if he hurts Mako-chan, he’s in for some big trouble!” About five minutes later, the shadow appeared, with Mako again beside him, in normal clothes. “Mako-chan! Are you okay?” Mina asked. “I’m fine, guys. Don’t worry. Eric-kun needs our help.” She then proceeded to tell the boy’s story. Usagi and Mamoru looked at each other, concerned for their future daughter. The scouts all huddled together. “What do you think, Ami-chan?” “Well, Rei-chan, if Mako-chan believes him…I’m hoping he’s telling the truth. I don’t even think the Negaverse would come here to say that Chibi-Usa is captured.” “She’s right, Rei-chan,” Mina added. “I think we should go save Rini!” “Yeah, me too! I hate thinking of what the Negaverse would do to my daughter!” Usagi almost started crying. Mamoru pulled her close to him and comforted her. “There is no time to waste, Senshi. We need to get to Crystal Tokyo as soon as possible.” Eric’s voice was full of concern for the captive princess. He pulled a key out of his pocket and opened a portal to the future.
