A Saturday Afternoon. > > Once again, Serena was late for another Scout meeting at the temple. >Luna had called the meeting on such a pretty day that Serena spent most of >her time in the park enjoying it, and lost track of the time. Amy, Raye, >and >Luna could see her running up the long temple steps. When they saw her stop >halfway up the stairs to catch her breath, they all sighed and sweatdrops >hung from their heads. > Serena decided to walk up the remainder of the steps. Luna ran down to >meet her in the middle. > >"You're late again, Serena. What is your excuse this time?" > >"I happened to be enjoying this beautiful day with a walk in the park! Why >did you have to pick today of all days to have a meeting?," Serena >complained. > >"I'm sorry, but this is really important. We have to discuss Molly's friend >Nephlyte," Luna replied. >All went inside the temple and gathered in Raye's room. > >"Okay, Luna," said Amy. "What is it that we need to discuss?" > >"It's about Molly's friend, Nephlyte. I think he might be useful to us," >Luna replied. > >"Yeah! That's right!," shouted Raye. "He's from the Negaverse. He can >probably tell us all we want to know about them." > >"Yes, Raye," said Luna. "He can tell everything about them...but it's not >that simple." > >"I don't think he trusts us enough yet," said Amy. "I know I don't really >trust him." > >"Correct, Amy," said Luna. "That's why I need you girls to get to know him >better. Only when you are sure you can trust each other, can he help us. >Serena, you know him more than the rest of us, so you need to introduce him >to us." > >"Alright, Luna," Serena replied. "If you want to know him more, you should >come down to the arcade more often. He works there now." > >Luna just sighed. > >"Well it's true!," Serena said. "I'm not just saying that as an excuse to >play games!" > >"I know, Serena," Luna said. "It's just that I don't like video games very >much." > >The three girls giggled at this. > >"One more thing," Luna continued. "You must keep Nephlyte on a low profile >and be very careful about what you say to him. If the Negaverse finds out >that he is still alive, they won't stop until he is dead or they may try to >turn him back to their side...and he still knows who you are, Serena." > >The girls nodded in silence to Luna. > >"That is all," Luna said. "You may all go and enjoy this beautiful day." > >"Yay! I'm going straight to the ice cream cafe to get a double fudge >sundae!," Serena anounced. > >**Sweatdrops on Amy, Raye, and Luna as Serena runs out of the room** > >~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ >Meanwhile...at the cafe across town. > >"May I take your order?," the waitress asked as she approached a table >under >an umbrella. > >Molly looked at Nephlyte, and he gave her a slight smile. > >"Two chocolate parfaits, please," she announced. > >"Okay," the waitress said. "Be back in a few minutes." > >Nephlyte sighed as the waitress left. He looked around at the surrounding >tables with several couples sharing thoughtful conversations. He looked at >the people passing by in the streets, all out to enjoy the beautiful day. >He >noticed the trees swaying in the slight breeze. He never felt so much at >peace with his surroundings. > >"Nephlyte," Molly said, breaking the peace. "What's the matter?" > >"Huh?," said Nephlyte, coming out of his daze. "Oh...nothing. I just never >realized how peaceful this place is." > >"Oh," Molly answered. "I guess it can be, sometimes. Yeah, it can be really >nice when it is peaceful." > >Nephlyte was no longer at peace though. He could feel his heart beating >faster, and his palms getting sweaty. He felt as if small electrical >currents were surging through him. > >Unknown to him, Molly was equally as nervous. She cared for him, but she >didn't know how to act around him. Should she be herself, or should she be >someone more mature and sophisticated? She thought he would not like it if >she acted like a giggly little school girl, which was technically what she >was. > >Nephlyte wasn't exactly sure how to act either. Love was a new thing for >him, and he didn't know how to express it. He didn't know what to say, what >to do, or how to act. But he still loved Molly, at least he thought that's >what this strange feeling was. He liked it, but he was afraid of it. He >knew >that he loved to make Molly smile. "She is so pretty when she smiles," >Nephlyte thought. > >After many moments of awkward silence between the two of them, the waitress >appeared with their order. > >"Will there be anything else?," the waitress asked. > >"No thank you," Molly said. Nephlyte just shook his head. > >"Okay, thank you. Enjoy," the waitress replied, and left to wait on other >customers. > >Nephlyte carefully studied the dark colored substance and its fluffy light >layers in front of him. He had never seen something so complex; the >swirling >colors layed on top of each other, the white fluff on top of it all. > >Molly giggled when she saw him studying his food so curiously. Nephlyte >looked up from his culinary trance and joined in her giggling. Finally, he >picked up the spoon and carved a little cave out of the fluffy white >structure. It melted almost instantly in his mouth. > >"What is that?," Nephlyte asked, pointing to the white stuff. > >"That's whipped cream," Molly answered, trying not to laugh. "Do you like >it?" > >"Yes. Very much." > >"Well, maybe you'll like the rest of it." > >Nephlyte dug the spoon deeper until he got some of the dark colored >substance. Fluffy, soft, cool, sweet... so many ways to describe a taste. >Molly stared at him, waiting for his reaction. > >"Not bad," he replied. "Not bad at all." He took another bite. > >"Oh, I'm so glad you like it," Molly said as she finally picked up her own >spoon. >The two continued to eat in peace, sharing a casual word in between bites. > >Minutes later, Serena arrived at the cafe and saw them indulging in their >chocolate parfaits. She decided to greet them. > >"Hey guys," Serena said. "Aren't you enjoying this beautiful day?" > >Molly looked up. "Oh, hi Serena," she said. "Yeah it really is a nice day. >That's why we are eating outside." > >"You know what's best after dessert on a beautiful day?," Serena asked. "A >walk in the park!," she said before Molly could answer. "Well, chocolate's >calling me! Gotta go, see ya!" > >Molly waved as Serena bounded inside. When she turned back around, Nephlyte >looked at her and said, "The park sounds like a good idea." >~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ >Minutes later. Outside. > >After Nephlyte insisted on paying the bill, he and Molly left the cafe and >headed for the park. Nephlyte was still nervous, but calmed down alittle >from the chocolate parfait. They walked through the grass, admiring patches >of iris and lilies. Molly led Nephlyte down varoius paths that passed by a >pond with several ducks and people in paddle boats, a large gazebo, and >hundreds of cherry blossom trees. Eventually, they came across a familiar >tree. It was the tree which they sat under when Nephlyte was wounded and >Molly tore off a scrap of her pajamas to bind Nephlyte's arm. Nephlyte >sighed a deep sigh as they approached the tree. He took Molly's arm and >pulled her towards it. They stood leaning against the tree, shaded by the >broad leaves. Nephlyte tried to hide that he was nervous. Molly finally >spoke up. > >"Can you believe it was only three weeks ago?," she blurted out. > >"Hm?," Nephlyte mumbled. > >"I mean when those monsters attacked you, and you almost..." She stopped >short she couldn't say it. > >"Molly," Nephlyte said softly, turning towards her. "That won't happen. I >promise." He noticed tears beginning to form in the young girl's eyes. > >"I just remember this as the place where I almost lost you," Molly mumbled, >trying not to break down. > >"I remember this as the place where you saved me," Nephlyte replied softly, >now staring at her. > >Molly looked up and met his stare. She froze right where she was. Nephlyte >took a step in closer. He noticed the emerald greeness of her eyes and the >paleness of her face, slightly colored by her blushing cheeks and crimson >mouth. They were pulling him in, like a magnetic G-force. He felt himself >becoming heavier, the power was so great. He could no longer resist the >power in her lips, so he surrendered to his feelings. Her mouth suddenly >dissappeared as he attached himself to it. He felt the electricity churning >between the two of them. He shut his eyes, afraid of what was going to >happen. The shock was so powerful that they both began to shake. Nephlyte's >arms became magnetic as they wrapped around Molly's back and waist. He held >her so tight that the wound on his chest began to ache, but he couldn't let >go. Soon the shaking became so great that Nephlyte lost his balance and >fell >to his knees, pulling Molly down with him. But he could not detatch. The >electric currents continued to flow between them. Nephlyte sank deeper and >deeper into Molly's control. > >Finally, the magnetic force released, and Nephlyte collapsed against >Molly's >body. His head fell down on Molly's chest, and he rested his hands on her >shoulders. Molly could feel him still shaking and breathing deeply. She >carefully switched to a more comfortable position, and leaned against the >tree. > >"It's okay, Nephlyte," she whispered as she held his head against her chest >and stroked his long auburn hair. "It's okay." > >Nephlyte's arms released from Molly's shoulders and found themselves back >to >her waist where they wrapped around and locked. Molly and Nephlyte stayed >like this for a long time, until Nephlyte eventually stopped shaking. He >felt so at peace that he drifted to sleep. >~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ > >Sometime later, Molly heard bells chiming the hour. "Five o'clock. We've >been like this for a whole hour. I need to help Mom start dinner." > >She woke Nephlyte out of his peaceful trance. "I'm sorry, Nephlyte, but I >need to get home now." > >Nephlyte said nothing and stood up. He gave her an "I understand" look. > >"Thank you for the chocolate parfait," Molly said as Nephlyte helped her to >her feet. > >"Come see me at the arcade tomorrow," Nephlyte requested. > >"Of course," Molly replied as she hugged him. Nephlyte locked his arms >around her for a moment. > >Finally, they let each other go. Nephlyte stood frozen stiff as Molly ran >out of the park. He thought about what just happened. he remained in this >state of shock as he walked back to Darien's apartment. >~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~ ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
