Ohayo, minna-chan!  Okay first off, I haven't been getting mail lately, 
please mail me!  Secondly, I have noticed that in the past few chapters 
I have put very little, if any, romance!  I mean, my God!  Actually, I 
have put very little romance in this story, and am kicking myself for 
that!  I'M SO SORRY!  I have fixed that.  In this chapter, the second 
section is Serena and Darien only!  YEA!

Oh, it was pointed out that Luna and Artemis aren't from the moon like
I said in a previous chapter.  I *did* know that, but just forgot it, 
okay?  I can't remember the planet they are from, but it's not in our 
Solar System.

Again, I have gotten so little mail lately that if it were water, I 
would be dead!  Please send me mail!

FINAL AWAKENINGS
CHAPTER 9

____________Where Has My Baby Gone?____________

King Onyxious glowered at his 'assistant' with cool determination.  
"You said he would be ready soon!  What is taking so long?" he demanded 
as he gazed at a tube.  Several machines were hooked up to the tube, 
making beeping and whooshing noises.  The dark green liquid inside 
easily concealed the body within it.  Bubbles rose inside of the 
container, concealing the face inside of tubing.

"It's not my fault!" the woman told him.  "His neurological patterns 
are some what different then the rest of them.  As such, we are having 
some trouble recreating his body and memories."

"I WILL HEAR NO EXCUSES!" Onyxious boomed.  The woman stepped back 
quickly, slightly startled.  "He is key to my mission.  Speed the 
process up!   Do something!  He is key in destroying Serenity."  
Onyxious pivoted on his heel and left, his blood red cape flapping on 
his way out.
 
The woman narrowed her eyes at his retreating form in disgust.  'I 
once would have had this imbecile under my fingertip, but no.  I was 
destroyed like the rest.  But then he had to come along with his plans 
of revenge.  His revenge for his precious Metalia.  If it weren't for 
her, the plans would have succeeded, at least my plans would have.  My 
plans.  Yes, Endymion, you will be mine once again.'

Serena looked out at the fading sunlight over the lake and sighed.  It 
had been thirteen days since Rose had found out about the other Sailor 
Scouts.  Thirteen of the fourteen days she had promised to herself and 
Rini before she told Rose of the future.  Tomorrow, they would have to 
tell her.

"Hey, Gorgeous," a sexy voice said from behind her.  A pair of strong 
arms wrapped around her shoulders from behind. (AN: Imagine the hug 
in the SS movie.) Darien kissed Serena's neck and rested his head 
lightly on her shoulder.  "How are you doing?"

Serena, desperately fighting off the blush that tinted her face, 
motioned for Darien to sit down.  Darien complied and wrapped his 
arms around her, pulling her close to him.  Serena leaned back against 
him and settled into her loves warm embrace.  'Heaven.  Pure heaven,' 
she thought.  "I'm doing okay," she lied as his arms tightened around 
her protectively.

Darien smiled down at her and kissed the top of her head.  He knew what 
was wrong.  He wasn't doing much better, but knew it was for the best.  
"Don't worry.  She'll understand.  Rose is very logical and will 
probably be mad at us, more likely me, for awhile, but she'll know it 
was for the best," Darien reassured Serena.  "Have I told you I love 
you lately?" he whispered softly into her ear.

Serena blushed slightly, but kept her head facing out toward the 
setting sun.  "I don't believe so," she murmured back as she turned 
slowly so that her face was just inches away from his.

Darien smiled at her and cupped her cheek in his hand.  Slowly Darien 
leaned down so that his lips just barely touched hers and said just 
loud enough for Serena to hear, "I love you..." and he captured her 
lips in a soul searing kiss.

Serena sighed in happiness and wrapped her arms around Darien's neck.  
The two didn't even notice when the final rays of the sun set, and the 
silver moon began to rise above the lovers.

Rose groaned as she woke up the next morning.  As she sat up, she 
grabbed hold of her bed to support herself.  "Ow..." she murmured under 
her breath.  Steadily, she walked out of her room to the bathroom so 
that she could get ready for school and not be late.

The night before, she had a training session with the other Sailor 
Scouts, and oh boy was she feeling it!  'How did they put up with this 
for so long?' she thought as she limped out to the table and poured 
herself a glass of milk.  'Every bone in my body hurts!  That is the 
last time I spar Lita!

Darien looked up from his breakfast as Rose sat down at the table.  
"Morning, Rosie!  I take it you're a little sore," he commented as he 
sipped his coffee.

"You are so perceptive," Rose said to him sarcastically.  'Why do I 
put up with this jerk!?'

Darien laughed, "I try!"

Rose sunk down in her chair and growled something inaudible at her 'oh 
so loving brother.'

Terren watched the Earth Prince and Princess from a corner not ten feet
away from them and shook his head.  'Oh man!  Luna was right, a 
thousand years really has changed nothing in any of them!' he thought 
wearily as he watched the brother and sister continue to argue.  'I'm 
doomed!'

Raye sat in front of the fire.  It was a common site around the Temple, 
its' Priestess kneeling in front of the flames trying to solve the 
mysteries of life or the Sailor Scouts, as some knew.  She always woke 
up early to meditate before school and today was no exception.  So she 
sat in deep concentration, focussing on the main problem in her life, 
the Negaverse.

Raye's eyes suddenly flew open as an aura of warning seeped into her 
brain.  "A danger...is coming..." she whispered.  "Prince...
Princess..."

Jedite smiled evilly as he watched the little pink haired girl skip 
out of the schoolyard while talking to some friends.  'Well, so the 
Little Princess has decided to grace us with her presence,' he thought 
bitterly.  'About time.'

"Lucifer!" he called out.  The man that appeared before him literally 
could have been mistaken for Satan.  His body was a blood red color 
with coal black hair and even horns on his head.  (AN: Just picture 
a traditional, stereotypical devil!)

"Yes, Master?" he hissed out, his voice deep and malicious.

Jedite gave a twisted smile as he gave his youma the mission.  "You 
see that child?"  Lucifer nodded.  "That is Neo-Princess Serenity, you 
are to follow her and as soon as she is at home and off her guard, 
you are to capture her."

Lucifer nodded and was about to disappear when he suddenly stopped.  
"Should I kill her?" he asked thinking that he could possibly have 
the pleasure of killing Serenity's only daughter.  Maybe even right 
before her eyes!

Jedite looked at the girl as she talked and laughed with three other 
people.  "No.  We'll let Onyxious deal with her."

"So can you come?" Serena asked Darien and Rose as they walked Serena 
and Rini home with Luna and Terren bringing up the rear.

Darien sighed and thought about his answer.  Serena had invited him 
and Rose to eat at her house this night.  'Dinner with Serena and 
then tell Rose about Rini.  Dinner with Serena's Dad and a shotgun...'  
Darien looked to his girlfriend and groaned when she started giving 
him her infamous 'puppy-dog look.'  'Like I had a choice when she 
asked!'

"Sure, Sere.  I can come," Darien answered slightly nervously as he 
said a mental pray for himself.

Rose grinned as she thought about Mr. Tsukino's detest for her brother.  
"I'll be there!" she told Serena as she gave her the thumbs up sign.  
"Wouldn't want to miss my brother's funeral!"

Rini giggled and Darien mock glared at her.  "Gee, thanks, Sis!  Whose 
side are you on anyway?"

"Not yours!" Rini and Rose answered at the same time, even causing the 
ever stubborn Luna and Terren to laugh.

Luna climbed up onto Serena's shoulder after Darien turned to glare at 
her.  "I must admit, that was good!" she laughed.  "A little scary, 
but good," she added under her breath.

Serena nodded her agreement, and took Darien's hand.  "Oh, Honey, you 
know they didn't mean it!" she told him as she hugged him.  "We love 
you, Sweetie!"

Darien smiled slightly and kissed Serena firmly on the lips as soon as 
she was close enough to him.  Serena responded immediately and kissed 
her love back.

Rose and Rini both groaned.  "Well, I was having a good time until 
that!" Rose complained as she took Rini's hand and walked with her 
the rest of the way home, with Luna and Terren trailing not too far 
behind them, leaving Serena and Darien behind on the sidewalk.

Serena walked into her house and held the door open for the others as 
they walked in.  "Mom, I'm home!" she called as she took off her coat 
and hung it up on the rack.  "And I brought Darien and Rose for 
dinner!"

Illene Tsukino wiped her hands on her apron as she walked into the 
room.  Darien realized that he hadn't brought a gift for Mrs. Tsukino 
and quickly made half a dozen roses behind his back and presented them 
to Illene.  "Hello, Mrs. Tsuk-Illene," he corrected himself; remembering
how Illene had told him several times to call her by her first name.  
"These are for you."

Illene smiled and smelled the roses.  "Why thank you, Darien!  These 
are gorgeous, as always!  I'll go put them in water soon."  Illene 
turned to the young girl standing next to Serena and smiled at her.  
"Hello, you must be Rose!  My name is Illene and my husband is around 
here somewhere..." she muttered as she turned around and looked for 
Kent Tsukino.  Illene turned and walked out of the room, calling for 
her husband.

Sammy came down the stairs for dinner and saw Darien.  "What's up, 
Darien?  Come for another thrashing from my dad?" he laughed.

Darien sighed.  "I was hoping to avoid that this time..." he muttered.

"SAMMY!" Illene yelled from the kitchen.  "Leave Serena's guests alone!  
And it's dinner time!" she yelled loud enough for the whole house to 
hear.

Dinner went, for the most part, uneventful with Kent only glaring at 
Darien for part of the meal.  Illene asked Rose about what she was 
interested in and various things, creating polite small talk throughout 
supper.  When dinner was finished, Serena and Rini got up to go and get 
dessert.

"So, how are things going for you, Darien?" Illene asked as she sat 
back in her chair.

Darien answered politely, "Fine, Illene.  I'm signing up for a 
Mythology class for next semester that sounds really interesting."

"You like Mythology?" Kent asked him after his wife gave him a *look* 
to talk to the young man.

"Yes, very much, Sir."  Rose smirked at Darien being so formal, but a 
glare from Serena from the doorway made her stop.  "I'm especially 
interested in legends of the moon and such," Darien replied.

"Dessert!" Serena and Rini announced together as they walked through 
the door.  Rini was holding a small dish with a cover on it and 
grinning a bit, while Serena was carrying a cake platter, praying she 
wouldn't trip.  The girls set down their items and opened them to reveal chocolate covered strawberries and chocolate cake.

Rose's eyes lit up when Rini took off her cover.  "My favorite!" Rose 
said as she grabbed about a half dozen strawberries.  "Thanks, Mrs. 
Tsukino!"

Illene nodded to Rose, "Well, Serena told me you liked them!"  She then 
cut the cake, giving everyone a piece.  

Darien shook his head when he got his piece.  "Illene, I swear, every 
time I come here, I must gain ten pounds!"

A light laughter rose from the table, but died quickly as everyone 
began to eat.  Darien stopped as he lifted his fork to his mouth.  A 
familiar sensation creeped up under his skin causing Darien to shiver 
and put his fork down.

Rose was next.  'This is strange...' she thought as she glanced at 
Darien and Serena, looking for an answer.

Serena stopped eating too.  'Evil...' she thought as the presence made 
her skin crawl.  "Oh no..." she whispered.

The rest of the Tsukino's looked up when they noticed the three 
teenagers had stopped eating.  "Serena, Rose, Darien, are you alright?" 
Illene asked as she noticed how scared they suddenly looked.

"Mama...?" Rini whispered softly.

A silence stood in the room for no more then five seconds.  Five 
seconds that seemed to last an eternity.  The room felt colder and 
the presence of evil was all around, enveloping the three who could 
sense it.

"Now I have you, Small Lady!" a voice boomed through the dinning room.

Rini looked up to where the voice had come from and let out a scream, 
along with the three Tsukino's.  Lucifer stood in the doorway of the 
dinning room with an evil grin on his face.  One of his horns caught a 
glimmer of light and he slowly walked forward, inching towards Rini.

Rini and the others ran behind the table where Serena and Darien were.  
Serena picked Rini up and held her close as Darien and Rose got into 
ready positions.  Ready to do what ever it took to keep this youma 
from getting the small child.  (AN: and he really is one [a youma] 
this time!  Youma means demon for those who don't know.)

Lucifer walked closer to the people and glared at the young woman who 
was holding his target.  "Give me the girl!" he commanded Serena.

Serena held Rini tighter and glared defiantly at the monster before her.
She slowly shook her head no and glanced at Darien out of the corner of 
her eye.  Darien nodded slowly and reached into his pocket for his 
communicator.  Lucifer caught this movement and shot a small fireball 
at Darien halting the movement.  Darien cried out in pain when the 
fire hit him and glared at his offender.

Luna and Terren laid down upstairs while the others were eating.  "Hard 
to believe I almost didn't recognize my best friend," Luna muttered to 
herself as they talked about the Scouts power-ups from only two weeks 
ago.  The past two weeks had been filled with many training sessions, 
and no battles, much to everyone's relief.

Terren shook his head at his old friend, his best friend from when he 
was only a kitten.  "Don't worry, I forgive you," Terren told her with a 
grin.

Luna made a face at him.  "Dealing with one male cat was bad enough, 
and now I have to-"

Luna stopped suddenly as a wave of dark energy passed through the room.
Terren felt it too and stood up.  "What the?" he murmured as his hair 
stood on end.

Before either of them could answer, they heard Rini scream.

"Don't try anything," Lucifer hissed.  "Just give me the child and 
all of you can be on your merry little way," he said sarcastically.

"What do you want with my family?!" Kent demanded as he clenched a 
fist.  He caught a glance at his daughter, and saw that she was nowhere 
near as frightened as the rest of the family.  She was glaring calmly 
at the Devil and she, along with Darien and Rose, seemed to be 
restraining themselves from doing something that he somehow knew wasn't 
running.

"I don't want your family," the youma scoffed.  "I want that child!" 
he yelled as he pointed to Rini.  Rini coward a little bit more but 
then immediately tried to make herself look braver to the youma.

"That girl is apart of our family!" Illene argued as she held Sammy.

The youma laughed.  "I highly doubt that *you* are related to Neo-
Princess Serenity!" he said with mild amusement.

"Neo-Princess Serenity...?" Rose whispered as she cast a glance to 
Rini and Serena.

Lucifer shook his head and began to lunge toward Rini when two yells 
sounded and Luna and Terren attached themselves to the youma, biting 
and clawing in any way they could.  "RUN!" Luna yelled through clenched 
teeth.  The Tsukino's and Shield's began to run when suddenly Luna and 
Terren were thrown off of Lucifer and into a wall.

"TERREN!" Rose yelled as she tried to make her way to her fallen friend.

"LUNA!" Serena was about to run forward until she saw Lucifer come even 
closer with flames dancing around his fists.  With a move too quick for 
Serena to invade, he shot at her with a deadly fireball and equally 
deadly accuracy.

Instincts kicking in, Rose launched herself toward Serena, and knocked 
her out of the way taking the hit in the thigh.  Serena hit the ground, 
hard, and Rini slipped out of her arms, rolling *towards* Lucifer who 
gladly used his powers to pick her up and bring her closer to him.

Rose saw this and stood up, though rather painfully.  The Tsukino's 
watching in fright and somewhat awe.  "Alright, now you've attacked 
my best friend!  And now you'll pay!" she yelled as she pulled her transformation wand out of her dimensional pocket.  She didn't care 
if the Negaverse found out here identity, or the Tsukino's, she just 
cared about protecting her friends and family.  By the time she had 
finished the task of grabbing her pen, Lucifer was now holding Rini 
tightly, not letting her go.

"ROSE NO!" Terren yelled from the floor.

"EARTH COSMIC POWER!"

The Tsukino's and youma watched in awe as a flash of light enveloped 
Rose.  Seconds after it started, it ended and standing before them was 
Sailor Earth.

"Rose is a Sailor Scout?!" Sammy exclaimed as he stared at Sailor 
Earth with shock written on his face.

Lucifer laughed evilly.  "Only one of you, good!  Makes my job so 
much easier!  Not only that, I'm sure King Onyxious will greatly 
reward me for killing a Sailor Scout!"

"King Onyxious?" Darien asked.

Sailor Earth narrowed her eyes and prepared to attack.

"EARTH-"

"NO!  YOU'LL HIT RINI!" Serena screamed to her as she ran to Sailor 
Earth and grabbed her staff.

Lucifer smiled evilly as he saw his chance and began to form fire in 
his palm.

Rini, seeing what he was planning, opened her eyes wide and screamed.  
"MOMMY!  LOOK OUT!!!!!!"

Serena turned as she heard Rini call, but before Lucifer could release 
his energy, another power engulfed the room in white-hot light.

Lucifer cried out in mild pain as the power of the Neo-Princess touched 
his skin and released her to be held by his power and not his arms.

Sailor Earth looked on in astonishment as Rini released her energy 
and the turned ghostly when she saw *what* was causing all of that raw 
energy.

Terren saw it too, and looked to Luna, who simply nodded.

Rini's golden crescent moon stayed bright even after she stopped 
releasing energy and was simply sniffling.  Serena and Darien didn't 
care anymore.  He was trying to hurt their daughter.  This *youma* 
was trying to hurt their daughter.

"MOON CELESTIAL POWER!"

Darien held up a rose, and transformed.

Across the city, four girls and one cat looked in shock as the moon 
energy erupted like it had that first time two and a half years ago 
when Rini first appeared.  With out a second thought, all of them had transformed and were running towards the source of the Moonbeam.

************************************************************************

Greg and Andrew were talking and walking down to the Temple where the 
girls would be when they saw four familiar figures run by.  Greg's 
eyes opened wide as he watched them run right by them.  "The Sailor 
Scouts!  I had a really bad feeling today..." he trailed off.

Andrew didn't tear his eyes off of his girlfriend as he addressed Greg.  
"What do you mean?"

Greg sighed and answered.  "I mean that something big is going to 
happen, and I don't know if it's good or bad.  But I've got a feeling 
it's not good!" he said sadly.

Andrew didn't say anything as he started running.  'I may not be a physic 
like Greg, but I've got a feeling something went wrong a Serena and 
Darien's dinner!'

Greg called to Andrew to wait up as he took off after him.

Sailor Pluto bit her lip as she watched the battle take place.  With 
discipline that took her a good portion of her life to acquire she 
restrained herself from running to help her Princess and Prince in 
their need.  She closed her eyes and attempted to calm herself.

"Do not worry, old friend," a soft angelic voice told the Time 
Guardian.  "Things will turn out okay," the female voice told her.

Sailor Pluto nodded.  "I know, Majesty.  When shall I bring them to 
you?" she asked in an unemotional voice.

The voice paused to consider.  "Soon.  Very soon they will need to 
learn the truth."

If the Tsukino's had been surprised with Rose's transformation, they 
about had heart attacks when they saw their own daughter turn into the 
legendary fighter of justice, Sailor Moon.  Not to mention her boyfriend 
was the dashing Tuxedo Mask.

"Serena?" Illene whispered not believing her own eyes.

'That can't be my little girl,' Kent thought as he watched the three 
superheroes challenge the youma.  'It can't be.'

"NO WAY!" Sammy yelled.  "My sister is Sailor Moon!?  Totally cool!"

Sailor Moon turned back to her family and realized that if the youma 
got close enough, he could use them against her.  There wasn't anywhere 
else to go; their only exit was blocked.  "Get under the table!" she 
ordered her family.  When her father opened his mouth to protest, Sailor 
Moon looked back at him and in a stronger voice yelled, "NOW!"

Not wanting to upset her anymore, they did as told and ducked underneath 
the table, now only able to catch glimpses of the battle scene.

"Let her go!" Sailor Moon demanded as she pulled out the Star Wand and 
twirled it in her hand.

Tuxedo Mask pulled out a rose and held it is his hand.  "Now..."

Sailor Earth snapped out of her shock and stepped up.  "Before we get 
angry."

Lucifer simply stood there.  Sailor Moon held her Wand at ready.

"SILVER MOON STAR ATTACK!"

Stars and energy ribbons flew out of the Wand and at the youma who 
jumped out of the way, not wanting to be the dust of the day as opposed 
to the youma of the day.  "You need better aim, Serenity!" he yelled to 
Sailor Moon.

"EARTH TSUNAMI SPLASH!"

The water was too fast and too sudden for Lucifer to avoid and he was 
hit in his side, causing him to stagger back a bit.  He hurled a ball of 
flame to the two Sailor Scouts and Tuxedo Mask, trapping them in a ring 
of fire as he mentally grabbed Rini with his powers and disappeared with 
her.

"MOMMY!! DADDY!!  HELP ME!" Rini screamed, reaching out a hand toward 
Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask as she disappeared from the site of the 
others in the room, with the Luna-P ball falling to the ground and 
rolling over where she had once been, seemingly confused that her 
mistress had gone with out her.

The Sailor Scouts choose that moment, as Lucifer was vanishing with 
their future Princess, to run in.

The circle of flames disappeared from around the three as soon as the 
youma did.  The Sailor Scouts eyed their Prince and Princess carefully.  
The two didn't hesitate and started to take off after only a moment's 
pause.  The Tsukino's crawled out from under the table after they heard 
the youma disappear.  They watched what was going on as they tried to 
process what had happened and what Rini had said just moments ago.

The four girls grabbed their friends as they tried to take off, and 
stopped them from leaving the room.  "LET ME GO!" Sailor Moon cried as 
she tried to pull Mars and Mercury's hands off of her.  "RINI!  I have 
to save her!  LET GO!  THAT'S AN ORDER!"  The two only held her tighter.

Tuxedo Mask was having similar difficulties with Venus and Jupiter.  
"We have to save her!  RELEASE ME!" he commanded as he struggled harder.

Mercury listened to her friend for a little while longer before 
deciding she had enough.  Mercury did something she had done one other 
time in the North Pole at D-Point**.  She pulled her hand back, and 
slapped Sailor Moon across the face.  Hard.

Jupiter saw what Mercury did and decided to use her own strength.  With 
all the power she could muster, she grabbed Tuxedo Mask by the 
shoulders and pushed him into a wall.  "Listen!" she hissed at him, but 
loud enough so that Sailor Moon could hear.  "You two running off to 
find her won't do us any good!"  They both stopped struggling to listen 
to Jupiter.  "If we want to find her, all of us are going to have to 
work together!  Now," she glanced at Tuxedo Mask, "I'm going to let 
you go.  *Don't* *try* *to* *run*."  Tuxedo Mask nodded and Jupiter 
released him.

Sailor Earth just stood off to the side with her staff in hand, too far 
in shock to do anything.  'How can Rini be their daughter?  And why don't 
they look surprised?'  She looked out the small window and saw that 
clouds had covered the moon and it was pitch black outside.

The Tsukino's walked over to Sailor Moon and stared for a moment before 
Illene managed to croak out, "Serena, is it really you?  What just 
happened?  What's going on here?"

Sailor Moon looked up and saw her family's confused expressions.  Her 
eyes filled with tears as her daughters' absence began to sink in.  
"Mama!" she cried as she flung herself into her mothers' arms, and 
sobbed.

Bet ya hate me for leaving you off there!  Though this is my shortest 
chapter, I think it's the one with the most emotion in it.  I really 
hope you liked it!  I didn't get inspiration for this chapter until 
Wednesday and then had to finish it by Thursday!  Though short, I think 
you got the message, ne?  *laughs evilly*  Uh, just please don't kill 
me with the flames this week, okay?

**First, Lucifer is another name for Satan.  Second "D-Point" is in 
the Manga and the Japanese version of the Anime.  It is the spot where 
the final battle against Queen Metalia and Queen Beryl occurred.  And 
in the original version, Mercury *did* slap Sailor Moon across the face 
when she went hysterical about Jupiter's death.  I have seen the 
episode, so I *know* it happened.
