FINAL AWAKENINGS CHAPTER SIX _________Earth's Shaky Conquest_________ Serena looked to the seat next to her with worry. It was nearly lunchtime and Rose still hadn't shown up. 'Where is she?' Serena asked herself. 'She was just fine yesterday!' "Ms. H?" a voice came from the door. Miss Haruna stopped her lesson and looked to the door. "Yes, Sir?" she asked as the Principal stepped into the room. "Please come with me. I have just been given news that you should hear," he told her. Haruna nodded and walked out of the door. The class looked to each other, each wondering 'What's going on?!' "Hey, Serena," Molly leaned over from the desk to Serena's left, "what could they be talking about?" Serena shrugged. "I don't know, Mol. But I hope everything's okay though." A boy who sat in front of Serena turned around in his seat. He had brown hair and sharp green eyes. He was a good student with a good reputation for treating girls with respect. Most parents hoped their daughter would be the one to win him. His name was Timothy Jameson. "Have you seen Rose today, Serena?" he asked with a voice full of worry. "You've gotta be the closest person to her, and you don't know where she is?" Serena shook her head. "Sorry, Tim. I haven't seen her since yesterday and she was just fine then." Serena smiled slightly and raised an eyebrow. "Why? Are you interested? Tim's face grew pale and then bright red. "N-n-NO! No way! She's just nice and a good friend and I was just curious..." Serena smiled and winked at him. "Sure you were, Tim. You keep telling yourself that," she said, causing Tim to flush an even brighter shade of pink. "Hey, if you want, I can try and hook you two up!" Tim looked at her with wide eyes. "You would?" he asked. Before Serena could answer, Ms. H walked back into the class. The chatter in the classroom died a quick death as Ms. Haruna re-entered the room. Her face was etched with worry as she took her position in front of the class. "Class, I'm afraid I have some bad news." Before anyone could jump in, Ms. Haruna continued, "Yesterday, Roseanna was hurt in a street fight. Apparently some people jumped her for her money and then beat her pretty badly. She *is* fine, just in a lot of pain and her injuries are healing extremely fast." Serena covered her mouth in shock. "Oh no!" she whispered. "Can we see her?" she asked. Ms. Haruna nodded. "Actually, Serena, I was wondering if you could go and give her the homework from today so she won't fall too far behind." Serena's eyes lit up and she smiled. "Aye-aye, ma'am!" she said as she saluted her teacher. "Serena..." Ms. H said warningly. Serena giggled and put her hand down. "Sorry!" ************************************************************************* "Are you sure she's okay, Mommy?" Rini asked as she gripped Serena's hand tighter. 'She has to be!' Serena chuckled slightly. "Yes, Sweetheart, she's just fine. You'll see." After telling the girls and Darien what had happened to Rose, all of them insisted on coming along to be sure she was all right. Serena was keeping her eye on Mina, though. For some strange reason, she had a bad feeling about her... Darien picked Rini up and wrapped one arm around Serena's waist. "I wonder who attacked her," he pondered to himself. Serena shrugged. "I don't know," she paused for a moment before continuing. "Darien, are you okay with going to the orphanage?" she asked quietly so only he and possibly Rini could here. "I know that there are a lot of bad memories there, and I don't want you to hurt because of it," she explained to him quickly. Darien smiled at her. 'Always looking out for others,' he thought with a smile. 'There isn't a woman with a bigger heart in the Universe. Gods, I am so lucky.' "Don't worry, Serena. I've got friends and a family now. I'm not afraid to face my past. Besides, the really painful parts of my past didn't happen until after I left here," he told her with a voice full of sorrow. Serena nodded grimly, knowing exactly what he was talking about. The brainwashing, the dreams, the amnesia and there were so many more ways that the two had been painfully tortured. She shivered slightly, but it was not from the cold mid November day. Rini took notice of her parents' silence and knew what they were thinking. She knew what had happened to her father. Rini had felt awful about what she had done two and a half years ago, when she had been brainwashed, and refused to even meet her parents gaze for almost a week after she returned. When they found out what was troubling her, her parents told her that her Father had been brainwashed once. She almost didn't believe the horror story her parents told her; but looking into their eyes, she could see the pain that those weeks had caused both of them, even at the young age of five. Knowing about Endymion's experience helped her deal with what she had tried to do. 'But it didn't take away the pain,' Rini told herself. 'Even after all this time, you still can't forget, can you?!' she asked herself. 'Even Daddy hasn't forgotten...' her mind whispered. "Hey, Rini, you still in there?" Serena asked waving a hand in front of her daughters' face. "Rini...HELLO!" Rini shook her head, "Huh?" She then realized that they were standing in front of the entrance to the orphanage. Raye sighed, "Oh, by Mars, no! She's getting more like Serena each day!" she yelled. Serena stuck her tongue out at Raye and pivoted forward on her heel. "You kinda spaced out there for a minute, Rini. Just making sure you're okay." Rini nodded and the group continued through the door, with Darien's hand gripping Serena's tighter along the way. ************************************************************************* Rose sighed as she lay back on her pillows. Just as she predicted, it had been 'a looooooooong night' and an even longer day. As soon as Mrs. Jackson had seen her injuries, she had put the girl straight to bed, called the doctor and then asked her what was wrong. Thanks to some quick thinking on Terren's part, she had a good and semi- believable cover story that she had been walking home and one man and one woman had jumped her for her money and beat her up. She had given it to them and then gone home. After hearing that story, the police had immediately been called and came over to get testimony from Rose. Rose giggled as she remembered giving the police descriptions of Malachite and Zoisite as opposed to the ones of Sapphire and the youma. It would be really interesting if they caught someone and got her to try and identify him or her! "What's so funny?" Terren asked from his place at the foot of Rose's bed. He stood and stretched with a small meow. "Just thinking what I told the police, that's all Terry!" Rose said with a smile. "And do I really have to pretend that I'm hurt for a while? I'll be completely healed in two or three days!" she said in exasperation. Terren shook his head. "If you were to say you healed that fast, then people would think that something was up and we could get in troub- MEOW!" "Huh?! What was that Terren?" Rose asked in mild confusion. Terren continued 'meowing.' "I don't think cats can talk, Rose!" a voice came from the door. ************************************************************************* Darien led the girls to the front desk of "Best Friends Orphanage," like he had been there just yesterday. "Been a long time," he mused to himself. "I wonder if my garden is still her." Lita stepped up and smiled, "With your gardening skills, I'd be surprised if they did take it down. The way you garden, those things could flourish on their own for months!" "Gee, I wonder why," Raye muttered sarcastically. "Could it be because he's Tux-" "Hello!" a cheerful voice interrupted Raye before she could spill Darien's life threatening secret. The seven people turned and found themselves face to face with a smiling girl. She was about five-foot three with long brown hair, and fiery brown eyes wearing a bright colored T-shirt. "My name is Autumn. May I help you?" she asked cheerfully. She then caught sight of Rini and smiled mischievously, knowing somehow that teasing them would be fine. "Or is she a brat and you want to return her?" The others laughed and Rini yelled, "HEY! I'M NOT A BRAT!" Serena and Darien exchanged a look over the statement, causing the others to laugh again. Darien stepped forward, "I'm Darien Shields and we're here to see a friend of ours, Roseanna Shilds," he told her. Autumn smiled and nodded. "I'll have to ask Mrs. Jackson. If it's okay with her, then you can go and see her. You're lucky to have her as a friend. She really is sweet. We used to live next to each other when we were younger. Before another word could be spoken, a voice from behind them interrupted the conversation. "Darien? Darien SHIELDS?!" The group of people turned to the sound of the voice and Darien's eyes immediately lit up. "Mrs. Jackson!" he said as he rushed forward to give the older woman a hug. "How are you?" he asked as he pulled away. The woman smiled, "Oh, I'm fine," she replied. From over Darien's shoulder she spotted several girls giving the two curious looks, among those being one of the children who lived there, Autumn. "Autumn, why don't you go and check on the nursery? Janise couldn't make it in today and you know how the kids like you." Autumn nodded and waved to the people she had just met. "It was nice meeting you! Tell Rose I said hello!" she called as she walked to the infant's rooms. "She's nice," Darien told Mrs. Jackson after Autumn had left. "Yes, she is. One of the best girls we've got! She was here when you lived here, Darien. Oh and didn't I teach you anything while you were living here?" Darien looked at her for a moment. "Aren't you going to introduce me to your friends?" she asked with a smile. She dropped her voice, "And if one of these girls isn't your girlfriend, I'm going to set you up with someone!" Darien smiled and nodded. He turned back to the girls, who looked mildly amused at him being reprimanded by someone. He'd get them for that one. "Mrs. Jackson, these are my friends Raye Hino," Raye nodded and shook Mrs. Jackson's hand. "Amy Anderson, Lita Kino, Mina Aino," all of the girls shook the woman's hand as their name was called. He walked to Serena and put his arm around her waist, "And this is my girlfriend, Serena Tsukino and," he placed one hand on top of Rini's head, "her cousin, Rini Tsukino." The two other girls shook her hand, too. "So you're Serena! I'm very happy to finally be meeting you! Rose has told me a lot about all of you. I assume that she's who you're here to see?" The others nodded. She motioned for the others to follow her as she began to walk down the hall. The journey to Rose's room was met with small talk, and Mrs. Jackson and Darien catching up on *most* of what had been happening in the past five years. When they reached Rose's room a voice could be heard from inside. Raye paused for a moment, 'Two voices?' "-completely healed in two or three days!" Rose's voice said from inside. "If you were to say you healed that fast, then people would think that something was up and we could get in troub-" The people entered the room and saw only one person and one cat. The cat was meowing frantically. "Huh?! What was that Terren?" Rose asked. "I don't think cat's can talk, Rose!" Mrs. Jackson spoke up from the doorway. Terren stopped yowling and Rose turned to face her guests. "Oh, h-hi, everyone!" she said shakily, praying that they didn't hear Terren talking. "What are you doing here?" she asked. Darien shrugged, "Nothing, Rose. Just dropped by to see if you're doing alright." Mrs. Jackson cleared her throat, "I'm going back downstairs. Do you need anything, Rose?" she asked. Rose shook her head. "Okay. Buy, girls! It was nice meeting you. Darien, you must come back soon." She dropped her voice low, "And hang onto Serena. You don't want someone else to get her." Darien nodded. "I know, Mrs. Jackson. Believe me, I know," he told her as he watched Serena go to Rose and hug her. Mrs. Jackson left, leaving the girls and Darien alone. "So how ya doing?" Mina asked. Rose made a face. "I hurt all over. Those guys just had to beat *me* up, didn't they?" The others smiled in sympathy. Oh yes. They knew what getting the crap kicked out of them felt like! "Well," Mina said with a smile. "That's why *I'm* here!" she said a little *too* cheerfully. She reached into her school bag and pulled out another, smaller lunch bag. "Nurse Mina to the rescue!" This comment was met with several blood curling screams. All of the girls jumped in front of Rose to protect her from the lethal Nurse Mina. "No, Mina DON'T!" Raye pleaded with the air headed blond. "Please! We came here to make sure Rose was *well*! Not to kill her!" Rose and Terren exchanged looks with each other before looking back at the girls. Serena raced to Mina and tried to grab the lunch from her hand, but Mina jumped out of the way. Lita then made a dive for it. "This isn't real food! What you made can't even be classified by science!" she yelled as she struggled for the lunch. "THAT'S RUDE! My food is great!" "YEAH, RIGHT!" "Wait!" Rose yelled. "What is going on here?!" Serena stepped forward and proceeded to tell Rose about their brief encounter with the notorious Nurse Mina. As the list of offenses got longer and longer, Rose got paler and paler. She turned to Amy and Darien for conformation. The two nodded vigorously in agreement with Serena. Although Darien hadn't had to experience the wrath of Nurse Mina, he had heard the tales that the others told, and was thankful that he never got sick. Mina somehow managed to wrestle the lunch away from her amazon friend and then thrust it into Roses' face. "I've gotten much better!" she whined. "Please, this will make you feel better!" she pleaded. Rose looked into Mina's eyes. They were wet with unshed tears and full of such innocence that Rose gave in and took the lunch from Mina. Mina grinned in triumph at her other friends who were telling Rose not to do it. Rose opened the lunch, and found a container of soup inside. She lifted it out and opened the top. Hesitantly, she took the spoon that had come with it and drew a spoonful out. With a shaky hand, after all the others had told her, drank the soup. Mina smiled and waited for something, anything, to happen. Amy pulled a smelling salt out of her dimensional pocket with out being seen. Rose swallowed the soup and forced back a gag. 'OH MY GOSH!' Her mind then began to screamed to her to spit out the soup and have the rest declared nuclear waste. But she looked to Mina and found her eyes so hopeful that she stuck took another bite of it and smiled. "I-it tastes great, Mina," she somehow managed to get out. "Thanks..." Mina began to literally dance around Rose's room with joy. "SEE? SEE?" she told the others. "I told you she would like it!" The others looked to Rose sympathetically. "Poor, Rose," Darien whispered while shaking his head. Serena sighed. 'I tried to warn-' she stopped in mid thought as she caught sight of a picture on Rose's nightstand. In it was a middle- aged couple smiling happily. The man had blond hair and blue eyes, and the woman had brown hair and green eyes. She looked at Rose who was still forcing down the food, much to the disgust of the others, and then to Darien. She looked at the picture one last time, to be sure she wasn't seeing things. It was the same picture that Darien had of his parents. ************************************************************************* All of them were there. The Generals of the Dark Moon and Negaverse who had been brought back from where ever they were, were all gathered in the dark room that belonged to their master. Jedite, Malachite, and Zoisite of the Negaverse wearily eyed Rubeus and Emerald of the Dark Moon, who were doing the same thing. "Any idea why we were called here?" Jedite asked aloud. "No, the master just told us to come," Emerald replied. "We did as told." "I asked you to come, because all of you have failed and one of you defected!" the booming voice said from in front of them. The five warriors went down on one knee in front of him. "The Sailor Scouts are stronger then before, Master!" Malachite protested. "Serenity must be fully awakening if their powers are getting stronger. She was never this strong when she had just discovered she was the Princess." "That is no matter. You have three missions. Capture Neo-Princess Serenity, kill the Sailor Scouts and gather energy. That is all you need to do. But you can't seem to do even one of those." "What of Sapphire?" Rubeus asked. "He may reveal some crucial secret to the Sailor Scouts now that he has betrayed us." "No," the other replied. "I have taken care of that. He won't say a word he isn't supposed to." "What of Nephlite?" Jedite asked despite Zoisite's low growl at the name. "He was not resurrected with us?" The dark man stared red eyes into Jedite. "When I began to plan my revenge against Princess Serenity, I searched for each of your souls in the under world. After I gathered the three of you," he waved a hand to Jedite, Malachite and Zoisite, "I went looking for your other General, only to find him not there. I searched for him, and the only explanation I could come up with is that his heart was purified so he wasn't with you. I am forbidden to go where I believe him to be. And the two of you," he turned to Rubeus and Emerald, "when each of you were killed, I took your souls before they could enter the other dimension." "Then why was Prince Diamond not brought back?" Emerald demanded. The man turned to Emerald, "He was obsessed with Serenity. I do not need *that* in my Generals," he told Emerald coldly. Emerald nodded slightly. "Now," he began again, "we need energy if we are to attack the past. Surprisingly, the Sailor Scouts in the future are holding very well without their King and Queen. The child is most likely staying with either her parents or with someone who has no clue as to who she is. You must find her." "Emerald and Jedite will take this mission. Find a way to take energy and find me that child!" he commanded. ************************************************************************* Jedite paced up and down the room he and Emerald were in, trying to formulate a plan. "Would you stop doing that?" Emerald sneered as she looked up from where she was sitting painting her nails. "You're making me nervous!" "You should be!" Jedite snapped. "If we fail, the master will have our heads!" Emerald laughed, causing Jedite to grimace. "But then there would only be three people to do his bidding. Trust me, we're safe for now. But really, if you want to take care of the Sailor Scouts just cause some ruckus at a place they would get mad at you for even looking at. And surely the Neo-Princess wouldn't be too far away from them." Jedite looked at her, startled. Emerald laughed again, "Give it a shot." ************************************************************************* Rose sighed as she drifted between sleep and awake. She could still feel the presence of her friends around her. It was well after eight o'clock and they had been there since school got out. 'They're so nice...so sweet. This is friendship. What I've been missing...' She remembered how Rini had just gone to get Mrs. Jackson for her pain medicine. 'They are all so nice...' "Is she asleep?" she heard Serena ask the others. Rose kept her eyes closed as a shadow passed over here. "Yes," Amy answered. "Why?" Rose heard Serena grab something from her desk. 'What is she doing?' she wondered as she began to feel mistrust for her 'friends.' "Darien, do you recognize this picture?" Serena asked him as she handed it to him. 'My picture of Mother and Father!' Rose thought. 'It has to be! I don't have any others!' Darien gasped. "What's this doing here?" he asked Serena. "Where did you get this?" Serena took Darien's hand. "I found it on Rose's desk. I took the back off. Sure enough, it says your parents names." Serena kneeled down in front of him. "Darien, Rose is your sister," she told him gently. "She just has to be!" "WWWWWWWWHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTTTTT!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!" Rose screamed as she sat up in her bed. "That's not possible!" she said as she forced herself out of bed to where Darien was sitting. "I've been an orphan since I was two!" "What day?" Darien asked her in a small whisper as he continued to stare at the picture with blank eyes. "Huh? It doesn't matter, cause it's not possible!" she told him. Darien shook his head, memories filtering back into his mind. 'Why now?' he thought. "What day Rose?" Well, it was Aug-" "August third," Darien finished for her. "It was August third. Father swerved and the car went off the cliff. We were on the way to-" Rose hesitated for a moment before answering. 'But it's not possible.' "-your sixth birthday..." Rose finished as the memories of the dreams that had been haunting her for weeks came crashing back. "I fell out of the car and then a woman who looked like an angel saved me. She had silver hair and wore a flowing white dress." Serena smiled at the description. 'Mother...' Lita looked at the two who were staring at each other. "By the moon! I just noticed how alike you two look! Rose, you even have the same part in your hair as Darien!" "She's right," Raye whispered. "Is it possible?" Rose asked Darien. "Why don't you know me then?" she asked. "I-I have amnesia," he explained as his voice became a little hoarse from the emotion. "All of my memory before the crash has been lost since the accident. But lately, I have been having dreams about it. I see the crash over an over in my head. And the-then nothing." Rose closed her eyes as her own dream resurfaced. "But I don't see how it could have happened. Even if you did have amnesia, shouldn't someone have put two and two together?" Amy answered that one, "Not likely." "What?" Darien asked. Amy looked around at everyone before continuing. "It's like this, if Rose was thrown from the car, and someone else helped her, then they rescue team wouldn't have found her. Since Darien had amnesia and couldn't ask where his sister was, no one thought to look for her. Rose was two, and her last name is different because she probably couldn't remember the real one. And then four years later, she switched orphanages right after you started going to Azabu Elementary." She looked Darien and Rose in the eye. "It is very possible with your situation." Rose looked down, and then up again. She had always felt something about Darien, something she felt she should know. She loved him, but not the way Serena loved him. 'Could it be what I felt was the part of me that still knows him? There are too many coincidences for this to not be true.' Darien and Rose looked at each other again. The memories of the crash that had been so long forgotten seemed to be overflowing the floodgates of their minds. The two just stood there and looked at each other for a moment before running and embracing each other tightly. Tears began to fall from everyone's eyes as the newfound brother and sister hugged each other. There was no doubt in any of their minds that Darien and Rose were indeed, brother and sister. Especially not Serena. She could feel it. "A family," Rose whispered. "I have a real family!" she cried as tears of joy fell down her cheeks. "My God..." "I know," Darien whispered. "I know..." "And it'll be extending soon," Lita said with a wink in Darien's direction. "Huh?" Rose asked in mild confusion. "You really don't know how serious Serena and Darien are?" Mina asked. Rose shook her head. "You aren't engaged, are you?" she asked them with a mischievous look in her eyes. Darien and Serena both turned and interesting shade of red and shook their heads. "Some day..." Darien managed to whisper as the girls 'Oohed.' "Rose!" a voice came from the door. "You should still be in bed!" Mrs. Jackson exclaimed as she rushed in. "Come on- Why are all of you crying?" she asked as she got a look at the faces of everyone in the room. Rose hugged Mrs. Jackson. "Darien's my older brother!" Rose said and then proceeded to tell her how they knew. Rini stood in the doorway smiling. 'Finally...' she thought. 'Now they need to find out that she's Sailor Earth and everything will be set! I hate this stupid vow to keep the future silent,' she thought. 'This sucks! I can't tell them who she really is!' Rini suddenly shivered. She turned around, thinking that that girl 'Chary' or something was behind her. She gasped at what she saw. A large gray droid was standing in the hallway next to her. It was another female one that looked somewhat like an octopus with tentacles for arms and legs. Rini's eyes opened wide and she let out one of her world famous screams. Rini ran into the room where Mrs. Jackson was still in amazement and threw her arms around Serena's legs. "YOUMA!" she cried. Serena and all of the others looked up. The youma stepped into the room and roared. It spotted all of the people in the room and grinned sickly. "Give me your energy!" she cried out stretching one of her long tentacle arms to grab Mrs. Jackson. The others stood there and watched in horror as most of her energy was taken and she was tossed to the side. "Mrs. Jackson!" Rose and Darien cried as they rushed to her side. "Is she-?" Rose asked fearfully. Darien shook his head and relaxed slightly. "No, she'll be just fine. Energy drain." "You've seen this before?" Rose asked curiously. Darien looked down, "Unfortunately it's not all that uncommon in Tokyo." The two then concentrated on the youma. "Give me that child!" the youma demanded. Serena stayed in front of Rini and glared defiantly at the youma. "You'll never get her! Tell your masters that! I'm never going to let you get her!" Rose looked at Serena, astonished. 'Could she really know what's going on here? Rini isn't aloud to be alone, and Serena's extra careful about knowing where she is...Serena could answer my questions.' The youma laughed. "So be it..." She swung her long arms at Serena, who jumped out of the way with only mill-seconds to spare. "A wise guy, eh?" she hissed. From out of nowhere, two cats leapt at the monster and began biting and scratching its face. "ROSE!" Darien yelled as he grabbed Serena and Rini, "RUN!" The two cats, Luna and Artemis, (of course!) and everyone but Rose and Terren ran from the room. Rose looked at the unconscious form of her guardian on the ground and narrowed her eyes. "EARTH STAR POWER!" The youma looked at the transformation in amazement and wonder. "Are you a Sailor Scout?" she asked. Rose and Terren exchanged looks that said 'Uhh...DUH!' "No. I like to go around chanting strange words, just to see who I'll turn out to be next! Would you like a sign that say's 'I'm Stupid,' or would you like me to kill you?" Sailor Earth said sarcastically. The youma looked baffled for a moment and then angry as it heard a burst of laughter from behind her. The other Sailor Scouts and Tuxedo Mask were standing just on the inside of the room with grins on their faces. The youma growled and prepared to attack again. She stopped and looked around for a moment. "Perhaps this is best continued outside," she mumbled as she jumped through the window. Sailor Earth groaned. "They've never used doors," Tuxedo Mask told her. "I didn't think so." "Enough chat!" Jupiter said while cracking her knuckles. "We've got butt to kick!" ************************************************************************* The youma launched another attack at the Sailor Scouts after they had landed in the back lawn of the orphanage. Many of the children had come out to watch their favorite super heroes in action and where 'oohing' and 'awing' over the battle. Jupiter launched a sphere of lightning at the youma, but missed. "Damn! She's fast!" she muttered under her breath. "MARS FLAME WAVE!" The wall of fire slammed into the youma and it screamed. "Now Sailor Moon!" Mercury called to her. Sailor Moon nodded and brought her scepter to bear. "MOON SCEPTER ELIMINATION!" The waves of moon energy raced at a blinding speed towards the droid, and did nothing. The Sailor Scouts stepped back and looked to Sailor Moon in horror. "Again!" she yelled. "NO! Why won't it work!?" "BECAUSE YOU'RE WEAK!" it told her and launched one of her tentacles at Sailor Moon, successfully wrapping it around her neck and lifting her ten feet into the air. "SAILOR MOON!" Tuxedo Mask yelled as he tried to run to her, only to get caught in a similar trap. Mercury began to furiously type into her computer, desperately trying to a way to destroy the monster. Sailor Earth bit her lip as she shifted the weight on her foot. Her shoulder still hurt, but she had to do something. She raised her staff to attack and winced at the pain. 'I have to save them!' "EARTH TSUNAMI SPLASH!" The attack swirled towards the youma, who dodged out of the way. She swore under her breath. "We need to hurry!" Mercury told the others as she cast a worried glance up to Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask. "They can't hold out much longer." "But she's to fast!" Venus protested. "We can't hit her!" Sailor Earth looked at the struggling Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask, who had almost fallen to unconsciousness, and then to her home. Her home where she had just discovered her family. And to the only family she had know for years. "Maybe we need an attack that will touch the earth and not need to be aimed directly at her," Sailor Earth whispered. "What?" the others asked as they watched Sailor Earth. Sailor Earth gripped her staff in a two-handed hold in front of her, as if preparing to spar with it. "EARTH..." She switch her hold on the staff slightly and began to spin it in figure eight's, faster and faster, gaining more and more momentum. "GROUND..." Sailor Earth stopped twirling her staff and held it in a two-handed grip with the green orb at the top facing the youma. "QUAKE!" As the last word was spoken, she picked the staff up over her head and slammed the bottom of it into the ground. At first nothing happened. The youma laughed, "And what was that supposed to- huh?!" it said as the ground began to shake. So surprised was it, that it let go of Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask, who were ushered out of the way by the other Sailor Scouts. A hole opened up under the youma and the ground rose up underneath it, trapping it inside of the soil. Sailor Earth saw the opportunity, as did the other Sailor Scouts. "EARTH CYCLONE WINDS!" "MARS CELESTIAL FIRE SURROUND!" "JUPITER THUNDER CLAPS ZAP!" "VENUS PASSION HEART!" "MERCURY ICE BEAM FREEZE!" The five attacks hooked together in a chain and launched toward the youma, who screamed one final time before disappearing. Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask looked in awe at the pile of dust not ten feet away from them. From behind them they could hear the children of the orphanage cheering them. Sailor Earth turned around and looked in astonishment at the crowds of children who were applauding them and cheering. "Overwhelming, isn't it?" Jupiter asked. Sailor Earth nodded slightly. It was strange to have people actually rooting for her. Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask limped over to Sailor Earth with the help of the others. "Cool attack, Sailor Earth!" Sailor Moon told her. "I don't know where that came from. I was just so...MAD!" she told them. "I didn't know what to do, but I just..." "Couldn't let it happen," the others finished for her. Sailor Moon studied her Scepter for a minute. "This is just like before," she whispered. "I can't use my attack." The others stopped and looked at her for a moment. Tuxedo Mask slid an arm around her waist and kissed her cheek. "Don't worry about it. We'll figure it out." A flash went off behind them and the Sailor Scouts quickly turned in time to see the press behind them. "We've stayed too long!" Mars yelled as she slid an arm around Sailor Moon's shoulders to help her stand. The three others did the same with two helping Tuxedo Mask and two helping Sailor Moon. The press ran forward, snapping pictures and holding out microphones. "ONE QUESTION!" "Just a quick statement!" "Will you please wait!?" The Sailor Scouts bonded off to the north and Sailor Earth left to the south. The reporters heaved sighs and slumped down a bit. "I got a picture of Tuxedo Mask kissing Sailor Moon!" one photographer exclaimed as he looked at his camera as though it were made of gold. A red streak came from the way that the Sailor Scouts had left and a perfect red rose shattered the photographers' camera, ruining the film. The reporters looked to the area, but only caught sight of a cape and two skirts vanishing. ************************************************************************* Rose, not Sailor Earth, ran back into her room. "Great job, Rose!" Terren told her when she arrived. "You really-" "SHH! Someone might hear you, Terry!" she hissed at him. Rose kneeled down next to Mrs. Jackson who was just starting to come to. "Mrs. Jackson, are you okay?" she asked her. "Wha-? Oh! Oh, my! Is the monster gone? Are you okay? Where am I?" she asked frantically. "Yes. Yes. My room. There, in order!" Rose told her. Mrs. Jackson smiled and stood up slowly. Darien and the girls ran back into the room and breathed a sigh of relief when they saw that both Rose and Mrs. Jackson were fine. Following them was a co-owner of the orphanage. "Helen?" she said as she stepped into the room. "The press wants a statement from you about the monster attack." Mrs. Jackson nodded. "I'm fine, don't worry," she told Rose and the others. She got up to walk out. "Darien, Rose," the two looked up to her, "if you aren't brother and sister, then don't be too disappointed. But there are too many coincidences for you not to be." She smiled at them. "Congratulations." She walked out of the room. Rose and Darien smiled at each other one more time, and then hugged. ************************************************************************* Terren watched Rose as she slept. The others had left only an hour ago, and after some more congratulating, (and finding the proper place to destroy the rest of Mina's food) Terren had let her sleep. He had a bad feeling about the new situation. If it did turn out that Darien and Rose were brother and sister, then concealing Roses' identity as Sailor Earth could be difficult. He hoped it wouldn't be. Things were too complicated already. 'I wonder what will happen when we find Endymion? Things could get even more complex with her having two different brothers,' he thought and then sighed. 'Well, we just have to wait for Amy to return with the DNA tests. We'll know for sure then.' He curled up beside his mistress. 'Sleep well, Princess Roselyn.' (AN: Pronounced Rose-lyn not Roze-lyn.) ************************************************************************* Amy bit her tongue as she re-programmed her computer. She had tried this once before, it had been over two years ago when Rini had first come. She had tried to find out who her parents were, but her computer short-circuited and she had nearly destroyed the machine. Though she was pretty sure that Sailor Pluto had something to do with that. She had worked out a program and installed it a year or so ago, but she had never used it. Amy prayed it would work this time. The screen flashed and then died down to reveal that it wanted the DNA samples. Amy's eyes lit up and she thrust her fist into the air. Carefully, she scanned Darien's piece of hair into the computer and watched as the DNA pattern appeared on the screen. She took another deep breath and scanned Rose's hair into the computer and the code came onto the screen. Amy typed a command into her computer and the two DNA codes compared each other. When they were complete, her eye's lit up. Amy jumped out of her chair and thrust a fist high into the air, "YES!!!" she screamed. ************************************************************************* Serena knocked on the sisters store window. Within seconds the door was opened and she was ushered inside. Serena greeted each of the sisters and Sapphire with a warm smile, before noticing that something was wrong. "What is it, guys?" Serena asked them with worry in her voice. Sapphire looked down and away from Serena and the others. "I-I'm sorry, Serenity. I don't know what happened." "It's Serena, and what do you mean?" she asked. "I can't remember," Sapphire whispered. "I can't remember what happened. Why I'm here," he explained. 'I'm useless to them now. After all I did, I can't even make amends for it.' "Oh no," Serena murmured quietly. "How? Why?" "We don't know," Prisma whispered. "Could it be the person who is in charge now?" she asked Serena. "Could he or she have erased Sapphires memory of what was happening in the Dark Moon or Negaverse so he couldn't tell you?" Serena thought for a moment. "That seems the most logical of answers. I guess that's what we'll have to go on." Sapphire still hadn't looked up through all of this. "I'm sorry. I wish I could have helped you. But I can't even remember what happened in the future. I only remember what happened last night and two years ago." Serena smiled, "It's okay. It's actually better for you. I wouldn't want to remember what had happened in the Negaverse. You being here is great. For the obvious reason that we don't have to fight you, and you've actually made Prisma happy. I haven't see her so happy in years. You have helped." She smiled at him again and gave a laugh, "Don't worry! We've been worse off! We'll just have to find the information out another way. Don't blame yourself." Sapphire looked up at her and smiled. "Thank you, Princess." Serena's gaze darkened, "And if you call me 'Princess' or 'Serenity' one more time, I'll have to hurt you," she told him with mock seriousness. The others laughed, including Sapphire. When their laughter died down, Serena looked to the sisters and Sapphire. 'Could they know something about Sailor Earth?' she thought. 'Could they know who she is?' ************************************************************************* The shadow man walked briskly down the hall. He had just found out what had happened during the battle that night, and Jedite and Emerald were lucky to escape with their lives. He knew he should have killed them, but like Emerald predicted, he needed them. He walked to the brig and simply looked at the guards, who immediately unlocked the door for him and then closed it behind him as he walked in. "If you're here to try and get information other then my name and birthday, then I suggest you save your breath and *leave,*" an angry voice spat from inside the cell. The man cocked his head. "My, my. Aren't we a bit spiteful today!" he said with a chuckle. "That kind of attitude will get you nowhere. You realize that, don't you?" The other man's breath was shallow as he answered. "I would sooner die then sell out my family. If the Negaverse hasn't learned that by now, then you really do have no chance of beating us." The shadow man laughed out loud, "ME?! I'm not the one who is chained to a wall, beaten half to death!" The other man growled and the scraping of feet trying to stand could be heard. "Make this easy on yourself, Endymion, tell us where you daughter lives while she is in the twentieth century. Or perhaps where the young Princess Serenity resides in that time." He grinned wickedly, "I can assure you that if they will not join us, their deaths will be quick and painless." Endymion did stand this time. "YOU TOUCH EITHER OF THEM AND I SWEAR TO GOD THAT IT WILL TAKE A WHOLE HELL OF A LOT MORE THEN THESE CHAINS TO HOLD ME BACK, ONYXIOUS!!!" Endymion screamed at the man as he pulled on his chains until they began to cut into his wrist. Blood slid down his arms and began to collect in a small pool on the floor from his efforts. "DO YOU HEAR?! I'LL KILL YOU!" King Onyxious of the Dark Kingdom simply laughed again and raised his palm. Energy began to gather in his hand as he spoke. "I seriously doubt that you will be able to do much of anything quiet soon, Endymion. If I had a choice, you would already have joined your Empress and you would be dead!" Endymion gritted his teeth together. "She isn't dead. I would know if she were dead! IF ANY OF THEM WERE DEAD!" He pulled on the chains again. Onyxious shook his head. "You shall never learn, Endymion. You will never win. Each time one is beaten, a new, more powerful one shall take its place. The Dark Forces will never be defeated. Ever." With that, Onyxious launched the energy he had gathered in his hand at the young King. With a soundless cry, Endymion fell to the ground. "The same...goes... for the...forces of...light," Endymion managed to rasp out before he fell into unconsciousness. King Onyxious walked out of the cell with a small smile on his face. When he returned to his room he activated a monitor of the Crystal Palace. "I shall have my revenge. And no one will stand in my way. Not the Sailor Scouts, not Endymion and certainly not Serenity." To be continued... Whoa, I can't believe I actually did it. I wasn't sure if I should have put that last scene in this chapter, but decided I needed more of a cliffhanger! Did that surprise you? Don't worry about Serenity or the Scouts, I will not kill them off! And yes, I am waiting for all of the Mamo-chan fans to flame me. And the first one should be from Nikki-chan. I'll let you know. Okay, it's two days later and the first flame was not from Nikki, but from my semi-editor, Ti'ana. Nikki was second. And Nikki told me to remind you what happened to the Neo-Queen, but none of you know! All you are supposed to know is that she was knocked unconscious! HA! This is the longest chapter yet, nineteen pages with the AN's. Well, I hope you liked! This chapter is my pride of the story so far! Stay tuned for next week's chapter where Mina isn't a nurse! *Rose sighs in relief* I just couldn't go a chapter without putting her in once, ya know! I'm really sorry if this sucked, but I had trouble with some parts. And as for the part where Rose came up with the cover story as to why she was hurt, that is probably the first thing that would pop into anyone's mind if they didn't want to tell their parents what really happened to them. Merry Christmas, Happy Kaawanza, Happy Hanukah, and whatever other Holiday you celebrate!
