Quote of the Week: "Your friend is the man who knows all about you, and still likes you" -Elbert Hubbard. FINAL AWAKENINGS CHAPTER 16 __________New Arrivals_________ Trista Meioh smiled when she saw the three young women waiting for her. It was almost time for the truth to be revealed about the Outers, and the next step was going to help. Not to mention they would be able to keep a better eye on the Princess this way. "Amara, Michelle, Hotaru," Trista addressed as she approached them outside of Crossroads High School. The three nodded and smiled in greeting at their old friend. "So, how are we going to do this, Trista?" Michelle asked. "I don't think they would just accept us off the streets," Hotaru pointed out. Trista shook her head. "Who said they were going to know?" She smiled mischievously. Amara groaned. "What have you done now?" ******************************************************************* Frowning, Rose glanced up at the clock again. The instructor was late, something that never happened, especially for this type of art class. Only the best could get in here, and the teacher only tolerated the best. Rose was about to go and get the Principal when the door opened and he stepped in. Following him was, Rose and many of the other students gasped, Michelle Kaioh. "Class," the Principal started as he stood in front of everyone, "we've made an arrangement to have the famous painter, Miss Michelle Kaioh, be your teacher for the rest of the year. Miss Kaioh is looking for something new to do, so that is why she is here. Now, for the love of God, me nice to her!" he told them as he left the room. Michelle rolled her eyes at him and smiled. "He seems a little up tight to me." The class chuckled politely. "Well, I don't want to be too formal, so please call me Michelle, none of that 'Miss' stuff for me, okay?" The class nodded an affirmative. "Does anyone have any questions- oh! It's you!" she said with mock surprise when she saw Rose. "Nice to see you again, Miss Shields," Michelle greeted with a smile. Rose smiled back. "Rose please, and its' good to see you again too. This is quite a shock." Michelle nodded. 'For both of us. I wasn't exactly expecting to become a teacher.' She mentally grimaced as she remembered the job that Amara had been given in the school. 'I hope this class doesn't have the most fatalities when she's done with them.' ******************************************************************* Many of the boys in Drivers Ed had been surprised when Amara Tenno had come into their class with the Principal. It had been explained to them that she was looking for a change of pace and a way to tell people about the true hazards of driving so she decided on teaching for the rest of the year. It was also a shock when they found out that Amara was a woman, not a man. Amara scanned the class for one of the Sailor Scouts. At first she frowned, thinking she didn't have any in this class, but was rewarded when a girl with long blond hair walked into the classroom, late. Amara smiled. 'Venus.' ******************************************************************* Mina dashed down the hall to her Drivers Ed class. She couldn't believe she was so late! It was like being in Junior High all over again! As Mina approached the door, she slowed and opened it cautiously. Peeking in, she could see that she had a new teacher. 'Oh wow!' Mina thought as she looked at the man. Tall, blond hair, nicely built, but she snapped out of her daze. 'Get it together, Aino! Andrew's your true love! Andrew!' she told her self as she slid in the room with a blush on her face. Thinking she hadn't been spotted, Mina grinned and went to take her seat. "Just a moment," a masculine voice spoke up from the front of the class. Mina froze and turned to face her handsome new instructor. "Y-yes?" she squeaked. "Do you have a pass?" he asked her. Mina shook her head. "Any excuse?" Another shake. "Well then, you have detention miss...?" "Aino. Mina Aino," Mina answered quietly. "Miss Aino. Go take your seat. I was about to start class." Mina nodded and scurried to her seat. 'Damn!' She suddenly panicked. 'I have a Scout meeting after school today!' As the new teacher gave the assignment, Mina glanced out the window and sighed. 'Raye is going to kill me!' The other students were working hard when a chair was pulled up beside Mina. Mina looked up, only to see the face of her new teacher smiling at her. "The old book says that you are having trouble with this class, and I was wondering if you wanted me to tutor you?" he asked. "We could start today after school." Mina's eyes opened wide and she nodded. "Yes," she looked up at him, her eyes shining, "and maybe we could get to know each other better?" 'Wow...he's so cute! I will improve my score a hundred -fold for-' "Excuse me, Ms. Tenno?" a girls voice called out. "MISS?!" Mina exclaimed as she looked at her teacher. Winking, Amara stood up and walked to the other girl. "I'll see you after school in detention!" 'I wonder how Hotaru is doing?' she thought. ******************************************************************* Hotaru sighed and brushed her dark purple hair out of her eyes. She couldn't believe it. Michelle got to teach painting. Amara got to drive. And she got to...pretend to be one year younger than she actually was. 'I'm eighteen, not seventeen, Trista,' she though somewhat bitterly. Her bitterness ended not a second later as the bell rang and a small girl with long blond pigtails and two buns on top of her head came running in with a tall girl with brown hair in a ponytail. 'PRINCESS! Jupiter!' she though with a smile. 'Well, here goes nothing.' ******************************************************************* Serena and Lita went to sit down in their seats, but saw a small girl with dark hair sitting in Lita's seat. Serena and Lita exchanged looks and shrugged. "Excuse me," Lita said with a smile. The girl looked up with wide eyes. "You are in my seat." With a gasp, the small girl jumped up. "Oh, I am so sorry! I didn't know," she whispered. Lita sat down and Serena next to her. "That's okay." Serena pointed to the seat in front of her and smiled. "That seat's empty if you want to sit there. You must be new here, I'm Serena," she greeted as the girl sat down. "I'm Hotaru," Hotaru greeted as she took the hand Lita held out to her. "I'm Lita," she greeted. "Where are you from-" Lita stopped talking as soon as the teacher walked in the room and opened his book. Hotaru turned around and faced front. 'I wonder why, after so long, so many battles, why are we needed again? Trista didn't explain too much; only that the Princess and Prince are in great danger.' Hotaru turned her head slightly and gazed at the blond worriedly. 'Why?' ******************************************************************* Diamond shook his sat on a small throne, at least smaller than what he was used to. It had been only a few days since he had seen Serenity, and he couldn't get her off his mind. He frowned. She was the only thing on his mind save his brother. Her *turncoat* brother who was living with the other four members of the Dark Moon who had betrayed him. "Sapphire, why did you do this?" "That's my question," King Onyxious said as he entered Prince Diamonds quarters. Diamond turned to the viewing globe that was floating in front of him and watched as Sapphire tried to restrain Prisma from jumping on Birdy and strangling her. Diamond almost smiled, but frowned when his brother simply turned Prisma around and kissed her passionately. "Perhaps," Onyxious began to suggest casually, noticing how angry Diamond seemed to be, "we should send a youma or droid to bring him here so we can ask him that ourselves, and not guess. What do you think, Prince Diamond?" he asked slyly. Diamond turned to the King and cast another glance at the globe. "Perhaps...that would be the best choice. I will do that immediately." Onyxious smirked and walked out of the room. "The fool, just like last time." ******************************************************************* Sapphire counted the change he was giving the customer and handed it to her. "Thank you for your business, Mrs. Yutaka. Come back soon!" Mrs. Yutaka smiled at the young man. "Of course I will, Sapphire. And please tell the sisters that I said hello will you? Good bye!" Sapphire nodded and waved as she left. As soon as she was gone, another young woman walked into the store. Sapphire watched her carefully, getting a bad feeling in his stomach. 'I don't like this,' he thought. He grew even more suspicious when she simply grabbed the first item she saw and walked up to him. "Did you find everything alright?" Sapphire asked carefully as he took the woman's purchase and scanned it. "Yes, because I found you," she said darkly. Sapphire gasped and looked up. The pretty blond hair, browned eyed woman had turned into a tall green skinned monster with sharp fangs and red hair. (AN: Jingle Bells, Jingle Bells) "I hate it when I'm right!" he exclaimed as he took off out of the store. The droid fired a green string at him, but Sapphire dodged as he ran out onto the streets of Tokyo. 'Damn. I shouldn't have gone out on the streets!' But his eyes widened in realization as he remembered what Serena had told him about Diamond. The droid more than likely had orders to bring him in and only hurt the Sailor Scouts. ******************************************************************* The bell rang for lunch and Serena packed up her books to go see her friends. She stopped when she noticed the girl she had met, who was in two of her classes, began to walk out alone. Frowning slightly Serena knew what she had to do and smiled. "Hotaru! Wait!" she called to the girl as she ran. Hotaru stopped and smiled when she saw Serena coming towards her. "Hello, Serena!" she greeted. Serena stopped and took a deep breath. "Where are you sitting during lunch?" she asked as the two began walking out of the building together. Hotaru shrugged. In all honesty, she was supposed to be meeting with Amara and Michelle during lunch to see what new info they had found and if it helped with their mission. However, she didn't think they'd protest to her having lunch with the Princess. "Good! You can sit with me and my friends then!" she chirped happily as she grabbed Hotaru's hand and began to run to the oak tree that the other girls and some guys were sitting under. A girl with long black hair in a braid spotted Serena and waved to her as they approached. When Serena and Hotaru stopped to catch their breath, Lita took that moment to roll her eyes at the girl. Something's will never change. "Hi, guys!" Serena greeted cheerfully. "Who is your friend, Serena?" Amy asked as she looked up from her book and took her glasses off quickly. (AN: She does have them! In the manga!) Hotaru stepped forward and smiled politely. "My name is Hotaru Tomoe. I just transferred to this school and Serena is in two of my classes. It's nice to meet you." The others greeted the new girl and Greg smiled at her. Hotaru's eyes opened wide when she saw him. She shook her head slightly, remembering that he knew all of the Sailor Scouts and their identities through his psychic abilities. It figured she'd see him sitting with more than half of the Inners. But she knew, he wasn't a threat to the safety of her princess. "So Hotaru, where are you from?" Mina asked as she took a bite of her lunch. Hotaru pulled out her own lunch and began to eat it. "Well, I was home schooled from the time I was thirteen until only a few weeks ago. My teacher thought I would be better off at public school, so here I am." She took another bite and smiled some more. 'Well, Trista was my teacher for five years.' It had been a long time since she had really and truly smiled. It felt good. "Home school?" Serena murmured. "Nope, couldn't stand having to do school at home!" she exclaimed while laughing. "Hotaru!" a new voice called. Hotaru winced and turned to face her two friends. 'I hope they're not mad!' "Amara! Michelle!" she called as she waved them over. "Oh no," Mina groaned as she buried her face in her hands. "What is it, Mina?" Rose asked. "Ms. Tenno is my driving instructor-" "Oh? I feel sorry for you," Michelle interrupted as she and Amara came up next to the girls. Amara looked at Michelle blankly for a moment before smiling slightly. "Save the comments for later, Michelle." "Nice to see you, Rose," Michelle greeted. "Hello, Michelle," Rose greeted back. "Sit down you two," Hotaru instructed as she and the others made room for their new arrivals. Amara shrugged. "Why not? After all, it's not often we are invited to sit with such pretty girls." "Amara," Michelle groaned in frustration. She and Amara sat between Hotaru and Serena and they took out their own lunch. "That's an interesting hair style," Amara commented as she patted Serena's hair buns. "What are they supposed to be, meatballs? Or odangos?" she asked. Serena turned to face the young woman and, teacher or not, let her have it. "These are called buns! Buns! Not meatballs and not odangos!" "So, you three know each other?" Lita asked as she slapped a hand over Serena's mouth. "Yes. We've been friends most of our lives, and because of Hotaru's family situation, we decided that she could live with us if she wanted," Michelle answered as she similarly covered Amara's mouth. "Family situation?" Rose mouthed. Hotaru nodded. "My mother died when I was very young, and my father couldn't take care of me. Amara and Michelle are legally aloud to live on their own, so the courts said I could live with them." "I know about those weird family situations. And believe me, it doesn't get much weirder than my family!" Serena laughed slightly, if sadly. The Outers noticed it and they too, remembered the days long ago in the Silver Millennium when there had been peace and the Princess and Queen had been not only mother and daughter, but also the best of friends. A sudden scream from right outside the schoolyard brought everyone out of their pensive states and into full warrior mode. Lita grabbed Serena's wrist and pulled so she was behind her and the other girls. Amara, Michelle and Hotaru automatically reached for their transformation pens before pulling back, remembering they couldn't transform in front of anyone else. "SAPPHIRE!" Serena and the other girls yelled as they watched their friend be shot at with a sticky green and red paste that tied him up and he fell to the ground. The students began screaming and trying to run away when the droid noticed them too. With a shriek, it opened it's mouth and shot everything in site with the green and red paste, trapping many students. Amara grabbed Serena and pushed her down as some of the liquid came here way. Serena looked up and saw Sapphire trying to struggle out of his prison and she got up. The others did too and exchanged looks. "On my mark, we run," Amara instructed. A moment later, Amara yelled, "Mark!" and all of the people who had been sitting under the tree ran in different directions. The five Sailor Scouts of the inner planets stopped and looked around. They were separated, but still knew that the others were doing the exact same thing. "MERCURY COSMIC POWER!" "EARTH COSMIC POWER!" "VENUS COSMIC POWER!" "JUPITER COSMIC POWER!" "MOON CELESTIAL POWER!" ******************************************************************* Not too far away from the Inners, the Outers were preparing to do the same thing. "That's the man from the other day," Hotaru whispered. Michelle nodded. "He must be a friend of the Inners." "We can't just stand by and watch the Inners fight anymore!" Amara growled softly as she grabbed her pen. "It is time," a voice from behind them said solemly. The three turned to see Sailor Pluto standing behind them. "I have permission to join you in the battles and stay on earth for the time being." The warm light in Hotaru's eyes died as she touched her transformation pen. Being the soldier of death and rebirth had changed the girl. The weight of her responsibilities had been taught to her when she was younger and she had to fight the dark instincts that sometimes tried to take her over. But now was not the time to fight herself, she had to help her princess. "NEPTUNE PLANET POWER!" "URANUS PLANET POWER!" "SATURN PLANET POWER!" ******************************************************************* Sailor Mars arrived soon after the battle started and Tuxedo Mask along with her. The Sailor Scouts attacks simply couldn't beat the green and red goo that the droid kept shooting. It was freezing their powers in mid air. "EARTH TSUNAMI SPLASH!" The blue water shot towards the droid who dodged this attack and landed behind Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon turned quickly and was about to jump, but knew she would never be fast enough to avoid the sharp claws that were descending down towards her. "SILENT WALL!" The droids claws met an invisible barrier as someone, or something came between it and Sailor Moon. Sailor Moon looked down in amazement and saw a small girl with dark hair and a giant Glave in her hands standing in front of her. "Who are you?" she whispered. The girl stepped back, away from Sailor Moon and the droid. Rose petals came with a small breeze and the soldiers turned their attention to where it was coming from. Several figures stood in the distance and they began to speak. "My guardian deity is a planet far up in the sky. The soldier of the sky, Sailor Uranus!" She was tall with short blond hair and wore a blue and skirt with yellow bows. "My guardian deity is a planet with the sea of sand. The soldier of embrace Sailor Neptune!" She was shorter with wavy green blue hair. Her skirt was green and her bows were blue. "My guardian deity is a planet floating in time and space. The soldier of revolution, Sailor Pluto." Sailor Pluto looked no different with her black suit and red bows. Her green hair swayed in the breeze. "My guardian deity is the planet of silence, the soldier of death and rebirth, Sailor Saturn!" the one next to Sailor Moon announced. Her suit was dark purple, almost black in some places and she carried a tall Glave, taller than her own body. "We soldier of the outer solar system are being led by a new crisis and, here we are!" they said together. "New...Sailor Scouts?" Sailor Earth whispered as she gaped at them. "Man, I though I was the last one!" The three who weren't already down by the others jumped down and prepared to fight. "WORLD SHAKING!" A glowing sphere of yellow energy went speeding towards the droid, who had stood there like an idiot the whole time. "DEEP SUBMERGE!" A sphere of blue energy followed the yellow and each hit the droid, nearly killing it, but not quite. "Dead Scream." Sailor Pluto whispered her attack so softly it almost wasn't heard. The dark red sphere hit the droid again and it fell back to the ground. "SILENCE GLAVE SURPRISE!" Saturn's attack was the final blow and the youma disappeared with a small cry. "Whoa..." Jupiter whispered as the sticky goo uncovered itself from the students and Sapphire, who was still laying on the ground near them. "Who are you?" Mars demanded. Tuxedo Mask ran to Sailor Moon and held her, making sure she was still okay and that nothing had happened. "Are you okay?" he whispered while still keeping his eyes on the new arrivals. "I'm fine," she whispered, not really paying attention to what he was saying. "It's the Sailor Scouts!" "Let's get their autographs!" "Wait!" The warriors turned to where the students were and saw them running towards them. "Maybe we should go somewhere else and discuss this," Uranus suggested as she turned and ran out of the area. The other Outers followed. The Inners and Sapphire exchanged looks before following after them as fast as they could. "They said they are the Outers," Tuxedo Mask called to the others. "Didn't Queen Serenity mention them a couple weeks ago?" he asked. Sailor Moon nodded her agreement. "Mother did say that we would see them when the time was right," she murmured. Looking ahead, Sailor Moon could clearly see the four soldiers that had saved them. The battle hadn't been going on long when they had arrived, but it had been obvious that they were going to have a very difficult time beating the droid. 'They had to have been close,' she thought. Less than five minutes later, the four of them stopped and the Inners soon followed their lead. They were in a deserted area of the park in a face off stance. The Outers on one side and the Inners on the other. Sapphire was standing off to the side and watching what was going on with interest. "Before anything else is said," Sailor Moon started as Uranus opened her mouth, "I want to know who you are," she demanded. The four looked at each other and nodded. In a flash of light, the Outers stood in front of the Inners with small smiles on their faces. Eyes widened and jaws dropped as they got a good look at their fellow warriors. "Amara, Michelle, Hotaru?!" To be continued... AGH! It sucked! I know it did! I'm very sorry!
