FINAL AWAKENINGS CHAPTER 12 ____________Legend Anew____________ Using her powers, Queen Serenity teleported her daughter and court to the remnants of the Moon Kingdom. The three cats and eight humans landed gracefully among the remnants of the Kingdom. As soon as they were fully there, Queen Serenity gave them a moment to collect themselves. The four Sailor Scouts, who had already been there, bowed their heads in silent mourning. Luna, Artemis and Terren clustered together as more memories came back from that fateful night one thousand years ago. Sailor Earth looked around at the ruins and felt sick. Tuxedo Mask put a comforting hand on his sister's shoulder as he too, surveyed the debris. He had never been there, and now he could see why Serena was so touchy on the subject. Rini was staring in shock at her mother's home. She knew it was bad, but she didn't realize it was this bad. Darien removed his arm from his sisters' shoulder and walked to Sailor Moon. She hadn't moved in the time that they had been there and didn't have any intention of doing so until Darien put his arms around her. Two tears fell from Sailor Moon's eyes as she threw her arms around his neck and cried silently for a moment. After everyone had settled down, Queen Serenity began her story. "I'm sure you're wondering what I meant about needing to know the past in order to help the future," she started. Not waiting for a response, there was a flash of light as Serenity began to re-weave the story of the Sliver Millennium for her daughter and court. ******************************************************************* <:The Silver Millennium:> (This will be told as if it is actually happening. Not like it's being narrated by the Queen.) The Royal Court of the Moon Kingdom sat around the table in their meeting rooms discussing certain matters of state. Namely all the new Princesses that had been born in the past year. The Queen of Mars had just had her daughter Raye not even a month ago. Before that The Queen of Jupiter had given birth and Venus too, and Mercury first. Queen Serenity smiled as she rubbed her own stomach. She was due in only a month and couldn't wait to be able to hold her daughter in her arms and not her hips. She spoke her thoughts aloud to her friends and Court. The Queen of Neptune laughed a little as she ran her hands through her daughter, Michelle, blue curls. "You say that now, and when they learn to walk you'll wish you could put them back in!" The Queen of Uranus laughed and set her own daughter, Amara, on the ground to go and play with the other children. "Yes, Amara can be quiet a handful!" The silent and serious Queen of Saturn smiled. "I believe that all of them will grow to be fine young ladies, even my little Hotaru." ******************************************************************* "Wait, wait!" Serena stopped the story suddenly. "Who are they?" she asked her mother. Queen Serenity smiled as she remembered the three little Princesses. "They are the Princesses of the Outer Solar System. Sailor Neptune, Sailor Uranus and Sailor Saturn. Their job was to protect the Kingdom from threats outside of the Solar System. They died while fighting for our Kingdom not too long before Queen Metalia attacked the Moon," she answered sadly. "Your Majesty," Tuxedo Mask began, "weren't they re-born with us?" "Yes, Endymion, they were," Serenity answered. "However their powers are far different than they Inner Sailor Scouts, and thus they are being trained as we speak by Sailor Pluto." "Puu?" Rini asked. "Is that why...?" she trailed off letting the question hang in the air. "When the Outer Sailor Scouts are needed, they will come. No sooner, no later," the Queen explained with a voice that said she could speak no more on the subject. "As I was saying..." ******************************************************************* (Back to the past!) "Your Majesty!" a familiar voice cried as a small cat, no more than a kitten, ran into the room. "Luna!" Queen Serenity exclaimed as she stood up and picked her new advisor up off the ground. "Slow down, and tell me what is it!" Luna took a deep breath and exhaled slowly. "Queen Serenity, we have just learned that Queen Gaia and King Stephen have had another child!" she told her Queen. Serenity beamed and clapped her hands together. "Oh that's wonderful!" "Your Majesty." "Luna! Go prepare communications for me! I must tell them how happy I am-" "Your Majesty!" "-for them! I didn't think Gaia would be able to-" "QUEEN SERENITY! WILL YOU PLEASE LISTEN!" Serenity stopped and turned to Luna. "Luna..." she spoke warningly. Cringing, Luna looked down. "Pardon me, Your Highness. But what I have to say is very important." "Apology accepted, please continue." "Well, you see, not only did the King and Queen have a child, they had a female child." Luna let the statement hang in the air for a moment for continuing. "Which means that we have the possibility that that child could become Sailor Earth." Queen Serenity rushed to the view screen and put a direct call to the earth palace in. (AN: The Silver Millennium was highly advanced, remember!) Though the Earth people had little technology, Queen Serenity made sure that they were able to communicate with each other freely during the negotiations they were going through. The previous king of the Earth had cut off all ties with the Moon Kingdom because he was jealous of their long life span. He also didn't like the idea of women being in charge, thus began the concept that women were weaker than men were. (AN: Whoever came up with that for real should die! I am not weak!) The current king, King Stephen, did not share his fathers' views and was doing his up most to patch up the relationship between the Earth and the Silver Alliance. In exchange for his efforts, Queen Serenity had granted them limited technology such as teleporters and open communicators. Within moments, King Stephen answered the summon and smiled at his friend. He was a handsome man with green eyes and dark black hair. Slightly taller than many others, but still not a giant with a fair build to him and a handsome face. "Queen Serenity!" he said with an even bigger smile. "To what do I own the honor?" Serenity smiled back at him. "I do believe that congratulations are in order for you, King Stephen! I hear you have a little girl joining your family now." Stephen's smile widened, if possible. "Word travels fast, I see. Yes, my wife gave birth to Princess Roselyn Chiba yesterday. They are both doing just fine, but Rose has quiet a set of lungs!" Queen Serenity gave a little smile and laugh. "But," Stephen continued, "I have a feeling that you didn't call to ask about how loud my child can wail." He raised an eyebrow and Serenity nodded. "You see, Your Majesty, you have a girl. A female child born to royalty has the potential to become a Sailor Scout. In your case, Roselyn can and most likely will become Sailor Earth. She is the last Sailor Scout of the Inner Planets and because a female child is so rare in Earth's Royal Family that there has only been one other Sailor Earth in history and that was at the beginning of the Sailor Millennium. I would like to train your daughter to become a Sailor Scout," she stated rather bluntly at the end. King Stephen inhaled sharply. "Send my daughter to train at the Moon?!" he all but yelled. "It is a possibility," Serenity said calmly. "If you accept than your daughter would become a member of my daughters' Royal Court, along with the other Princesses of the Planets." "I-I don't know," he stated after a moment. "I understand," the young Queen said with a knowing smile. "I'll give you a couple of days to consider it. Please remember though, that your daughter would still be very close and you could see her anytime. Please consider it." "Good day, Queen Serenity," King Stephen said formally as he closed communications with the Moon. "Good day, King Stephen." ******************************************************************* (Three days later.) "-And so we have decided to let you train our daughter on one condition," Queen Gaia told her friend with a small smile. Serenity smiled back at the image of the Queen and rubbed her belly soothingly. It was easy to see why Stephen had chosen this woman to be his wife. She had dark blue eyes a long brown hair that she pulled to the side in two clips. Her eyes were always smiling no matter how serious things were. Serenity had never seen the woman with sad eyes. "And that would be?" "That she be aloud to train here," the Queen stated bluntly. Queen Serenity looked at her friend in horror. "I-I can't do that! She has to train with the other girls and my Royal advisors! We..." she trailed off suddenly. "Maybe we can. Please hold on for a moment, Gaia." Queen Serenity stood and called for someone down the hall. About thirty seconds later a small dark gray cat came crashing through the halls and ran to the Queen. "You *pant* summand me *wheeze* your Majesty?" Terren gasped out. Serenity smiled and picked her youngest advisor up. Though inexperienced, he would be perfect for the job. ******************************************************************* "So *that's* why Terry was sent to train me," Sailor Earth mused to herself. "Yes," the Queen agreed before continuing her narration. "Terren left for Earth and began to train Princess Roselyn to become Sailor Earth when she turned four. She was a very good and willing student, who actually couldn't wait to become a member of the Moon Court." Her voice grew dark and serious and full of old pain as she continued. "However, even before that, there were certain things that changed." ******************************************************************* (A little over a month after Roselyn was born) "Oh Serenity," King Alex said as he wrapped his arms around his wife's waist, "she's absolutely beautiful," he breathed to her. Queen Serenity smiled as she rocked her new daughter gently. "She will be a grand lady one day with many friends and a large family." Alex kissed his wife's forehead. "Yes, she will. Just like her mother." As the two leaned in to kiss again, an evil black laughter sounded through the chambers. Serenity's eyes opened wide as she stood up and looked around the room. Another laugh joined the first one, and in two swirls of black smoke, a man and woman appeared in front of the Royal Family. The two mock bowed before them before staring them straight in the eye. "Allow me to introduce myself," the man said with a voice that even the deaf could hear his dislike for the trio. "I am King Onyxious of the Dark Kingdom of the Negaverse. And this lovely young lady is my wife, Queen Metalia." Alex pulled out his sword and sized the two up. The man was tall with brown hair and evil yellow eyes that were flashing red. He stood tall and had a cocky grin on his face. The woman had black hair and red eyes and was wearing a very form fitting dress as she glared at the couple. "What do you want?" Serenity demanded as she frantically called her Soldiers with her mind. They were coming, but the evil energy was not permitting them to teleport. "It is quite simply, Serenity," Metalia said in a low voice. "You hand over your daughter, or we destroy all of you!" Alex's eyes went flat at the mention of his child and with an angry cry, he charged at the two. Onyxious moved out of the way, but Metalia blocked every blow that Alex delivered. While Alex was fighting, Serenity held the young princess tighter to her as Onyxious came closer to her. Normally she would have fought, but with her daughter in her arms and having just given birth less then a day ago, she knew she didn't stand a chance against the evil Lord. With a grin, Onyxious powered up; red fists came towards Serenity, but before she could call on the little power she could spare to save if only her daughters' life, there was a cry from her husband and he threw himself in front of the blast and it hit him dead center in the chest. Serenity's eyes opened wide as she watched her husband fall lifeless to the ground. She stared at him as he looked up at her and smiled. With that grin still on his face he whispered ever so quietly to her, "For you, for her. I love you both too much to let you die." With a final sigh, his head fell to the side and he died. "No..." Serenity whispered softly. A loud banging was heard at the door and the eight Royal Guards ran into the room and stared in horror at the sight of their king lying dead on the ground. Sailor Pluto saw how history had taken course and walked up to the Queen, taking her infant daughter out of her hands and then backing away. 'So it has begun. The action that will set everything else in motion.' King Onyxious and Queen Metalia grinned evilly at Serenity and the Sailor Scouts as they advanced forward. "You will never win," Metalia said with a sardonic smile. "We will triumph." "No," Queen Serenity whispered. "*You* will never win. Good, always triumphs over evil." Closing her eyes, the Moon queen called upon the power of the Silver Crystal. In a flash of light, it appeared in her hands and she opened her eyes. The two evil beings backed away in fear. They *knew* what that was. And they didn't like it. "MOON CRYSTAL POWER!! SEAL AWAY THIS EVIL!" she called out with tears in her eyes. "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Metalia and Onyxious screamed as the white hot light of the Crystal engulfed them and hurled them their separate ways. Queen Serenity lowered her hands and the Crystal dropped to the ground. With a final sigh, the Queen fainted and slid to the ground. ******************************************************************* Sailor Moon forced back her tears as she whispered, "Father..." The Fairy Queen was forcing back her own tears as she continued. "I banished them as far away from each other a possible. As you know, Queen Metalia went to the sun, but as for King Onyxious, I banished him to the furthest planet from the sun, the only one that is uninhabited in our Solar System." Eyes wide with fear and understanding, Rini filled in the name. "You don't mean...Nemesis?!" she asked her grandmother. With a nod, Serenity acknowledged the child. "That is exactly what I mean, my Grand daughter. While Metalia was able to revive only a decade and a half later, because King Onyxious was on a planet that, at the time, only my court and myself knew about, no one could try and resurrect him," she explained gently. "However, when the people of the Dark Moon were banished there, in the thirtieth century, Wiseman began to worship him. He called him the 'Death Phantom,'" Serenity said grimly, restating the information Pluto had given her. "But the Death Phantom *was* the Wiseman," Mercury argued as she began to struggle through her memory for some scrap of evidence that this had happened with out them knowing. "The same as Beryl was Metalia, only a vassal for the evilness. However, because Serenity and Small Lady did not know what they were fighting, it was assumed that they were simply fighting Wiseman, and so the power was to kill him, and not seal away Onyxious. Before the Wiseman was eliminated, Onyxious would take the souls of the Dark Moon officers and keep them for the other part of his plan. After Wiseman was destroyed, the incarnate of Onyxious began to pass through dimensions and search for Queen Beryl's Generals. He was not able to find Nephlite because he is not in the after life that Onyxious can go to. For several years, he had been cloning the bodies for the souls he has captured and planning his revenge on all of us, you, for taking any hope of him being with Metalia away from him." The group nodded in understanding. They should have figured at least part of that out. "But there is more, if you are willing to listen," the Queen continued. ******************************************************************* (Fourteen years after the birth of the Princess.) Prince Endymion walked steadily down the hall to his sisters' rooms. They were due to leave for the Moon Kingdom in less than an hour and, being her big brother, it was his duty to make sure she was ready. 'Besides, if she's not, I can always get her back for the pepper in my clothes the other day,' he thought with a sarcastic smile. Reaching his sisters' door, he immediately began to bang on it. "GET YOUR LAZY BUTT OUT OF THERE, ROSE! WE'VE GOT PLACES TO GO!" Terren walked up behind Endymion and jumped on his shoulder. "I'd shut up if I were you. Next time she'll put a lot more than pepper in your clothes." "Shut up, Terry!" Sailor Earth yelled at her trainer as she stepped out of her chambers. "You don't need to tell him that!" Endymion smirked. "Well, I'm just happy that you can't pull anything on me until we get home, and that's not for two or three weeks!" Earth scowled at her brother and then closed her door and began walking briskly down the hall. Endymion hurried to catch her. "Are you nervous?" she asked him. Endymion looked at her. "No. It's just another meeting with royalty. Even if they are from the moon, they are still royalty. Nothing we haven't handled before." She smiled, "I hear the Princess is 'beautiful and angelic.' Or that's what the Nobles are saying." His reply was witty, "After looking at your face for so long, a youma would look gorgeous." Endymion looked at her face, laughed and ran off. "WHAT?!?!?!?! You're gonna get it for that! You hear me, you imbecile?! YOU'RE GONNA DIE! DIE!" Sailor Earth yelled and screamed while waving the Terra Staff over her head. He just laughed and kept running until he burst through the teleporter room. Endymion stopped at the sight of his parents and as soon as Sailor Earth reached the room, she stopped too. "So glad you two could join us," Gaia said seriously. "Your father and I will not tolerate your adolescent behavior on this trip. This is a serious matter that could very well seal the agreement of our joining the Silver Millennium!" "Yes, Mother," Endymion and Sailor Earth mumbled obediently. "Good. Now, let's go!" King Stephen exclaimed. ******************************************************************* Fidgeting nervously, Princess Serenity awaited the arrival of her last court member along with her mother, Luna and Artemis and the four Sailor Scouts. Sailor Mars poked her in the side and hissed into her ear, "Don't move so much! You'll wrinkle your dress! And then you may not have a shot at the Prince!" Serenity crossed her eyes at the Fire Princess before turning back just as the teleporters began to activate. In truth, she wasn't all that interested in the Prince Endymion. She knew her mother wanted her to fall in love with him, to help out the kingdom, but Serenity knew that he would be the same as every other Prince in the Galaxy. Stuck up and obnoxious. With a final burst of light, five figures stepped out of the teleporters and walked up towards Queen Serenity. Princess Serenity smiled gleefully when she saw the girl in the sailor outfit. She seemed nice enough, but there was a little mischief in her eyes. Serenity's gaze traveled over the King and Queen, who she noted looked respectable and very nice. But her jaw hit the ground when she got a look at the Prince. '*OH* *MY* *GOD!*' her inner good and bad voices said at the same time. (AN: Come on people, you've fought with yourself before, right? RIGHT?!) Her mother's voice broke through the young Princess' thoughts. "Allow me to introduce my daughter, Princess Serenity." The Princess walked up and curtsied to the Terran family. "I am pleased to meet you." One by one, all the others were presented and when introductions were done, Serenity didn't wait for her mother's acknowledgement to let her physique go from formal, to friend. She smiled at Sailor Earth and threw her arms around her in a friendly hug. "Hi!" she squealed, all traces of formality gone from her tone. The Sailor Scouts took the sign and jumped up. "Come on!" Sailor Venus said as she grabbed Sailor Earth's hand. "We've got a lot to show you!" the Princess squealed, practically jumping up and down. Queen Serenity smiled and shook her head. "Go on! Scat! All of you!" With out another word, the girls fled from the sight to familiarize Sailor Earth with the Moon Kingdom. "Well," Stephen said with a small chuckle, "she certainly has energy!" The two women nodded and exchanged knowing looks when they saw Endymion staring at the space Serenity had occupied just moments before. ******************************************************************* (Present) "There are more details that I'm not going to go into as a favor towards Serenity and Endymion," the Queen said with a smile. Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask flushed slightly. *They* remember what happened. "AWW!" Venus whined as she folded her arms across her chest. "Can't you give us a little more detail?!" she begged, having the feeling that it had something to do with how Serenity and Endymion got together. Chuckling slightly, the Queen gave just a little more information. "Let's just say that all of you, except Mercury of course," Mercury smiled a little bit, "were planning on getting Prince Endymion and Princess Serenity to fall in love, but then you found them in the garden. I believe the correct term now a days is 'making out?'" The girls gave small laughs and the Queen continued. "For two years, Endymion and Roselyn traveled back and fourth between the Earth and Moon Kingdoms. We almost had a treaty ratified when Endymion proposed to Serenity, and then we ended up throwing parts of it out because of how our kingdoms would unite with the marriage." "But, as you know, things didn't go as they should." ******************************************************************* Yelling and shouting. It was all Sailor Earth and Terren could hear as she ran down the hallways with her guardian on her shoulder. After months of beating them back, the Negaverse had finally burst threw the war lines and somehow made it into the palace. She ran as fast as she could to the teleporter room, where her family was supposed to be meeting anyway for a trip to the moon. 'I hope we can take that trip!' With a final burst of speed, she managed to make it with out anyone catching her. Slamming the door shut behind her, she faced her family who let out sighs of relief. "Thank God you're alright," her father said with relief shining in his eyes. It quickly faded away to a cold, calculating glaze as he looked at the door, which was being kicked in by the enemy. Gaia looked at her husband and they nodded. The door began to splinter and Gaia rushed to her two children. She kissed both of their foreheads tenderly and whispered, "Don't forget, no matter what happens, we love you more than anything. Take care of them, Terren." Just then, the doors flew open and hordes of soldiers ran into the room. With a strength the two children didn't know their Mother possessed, she pushed Prince Endymion and Princess Roselyn, her only children, into the teleporters. As the Earth faded away, the last thing they saw was their mother being killed and their father fighting mercilessly. As the surroundings changed into the Moon Kingdom, a vague mans' scream was heard. Sailor Earth's breathing was ragged as what happened replayed in her mind over and over again. "Mama...Daddy..." She took several quick shallow breaths. "NO! THIS DIDN'T HAPPEN!" Endymion lowered his gaze and let two tears trickle down his cheeks. "Mom, Dad..." After several moments of standing there, taking in what had happened and where Beryl would come next, Endymion straightened up and wiped his eyes. He could feel Serenity pestering him in the back of his mind. She could already tell he was very near and very upset and wanted to know why. "Rose," Endymion stated with a dead voice. Sailor Earth looked up and forced back her sobs. "We need to go and find the Queen. Tell her what has happened." "Right. I-I'm going to go get the girls right now. Could you get Queen Serenity?" she asked in a shaky voice as she stroked Terren for comfort. Endymion nodded and touched his sisters' shoulder. "We'll get them, Rose." "I know." She turned and ran in the opposite direction, towards the other Princess' rooms. Endymion sighed and ran not towards Queen Serenity, but Princess Serenity's chambers as fast as he could. He needed to see her. *Now.* ******************************************************************* Rose was running blindly through the familiar landscape. Branches tore at her legs and cut them, but she didn't notice. The only thing going thorough her mind was 'They're dead! She killed them! SHE KILLED THEM!' She fell to the ground, but quickly picked herself back up. Running as fast as she could through the door labeled 'Princess of Venus.' She didn't knock; she never had to. Sailor Earth knew they were in there without even checking. The four girls gasped as she ran into the room. They were in ball gowns, and dressed for the ball that night. "Rose!" Mina exclaimed. "Oh Gods! What happened to you?!" she asked. Sailor Earth looked up at her and just collapsed into her arms. She was so tired. So afraid. "They-they got them," she whispered through her tears. "Who?" Lita demanded. "Who got who?" Sobs began to shake her entire body. "B-Be-Beryl." She said that one word and the atmosphere in the room changed. Her friends went from concerned and protective to just plain pissed off. It was Amy who stepped forward and was gentle when she asked her friend what happened. "Rose, what happened?" Rose hiccuped before calming down and telling her what happened. "I don't know how she got passed security. All I know is that she came and destroyed the palace. Then she-she...k-k-killed Mom and Dad!" The Sailor Scout's faces went white and they turned to Terren, who was still on her shoulder, for confirmation. Terren nodded and jumped off her shoulder to find the Queen, Luna and Artemis, since he was sure Endymion had gone to see the Princess. The girls rushed forward and enveloped their friend in a huge hug, trying to make it better, though they knew they couldn't. ******************************************************************* Roselyn sipped her punch again as she kept an eye on her brother and the Princess. As per Queen Serenity's orders, she and Endymion were to attend them ball and act as though nothing had happened. If anyone asked, she was to say that important matters came up and her parents couldn't make. The Queen, like the rest, knew that if word of what happened on Earth reached the moon, there would be panic. And they couldn't afford panic. Mina elbowed her in the side and jerked her head towards the door. Rose laughed a little as her brother tried to discreetly lead Serenity out of the room with out the Sailor Scouts knowing. "Who does he think he's fooling?" Raye asked with a grin. "Let's just let them be, Raye," Lita instructed as her friend got ready to follow them. "We all know that this could be the last time they see each other." The girls fell silent. While they didn't like the thought, Lita was right. They had just received word that the Outer Princesses, except for Sailor Pluto, had perished on Earth while fighting. And the Inner Princesses knew that they were not stronger than the Outers were and would most likely die faster. "WE'RE UNDER ATTACK! UNDER ATTACK!" Luna yelled as she ran in to the ballroom with Artemis. "WE NEED EVERYONE WE CAN GET TO FIGHT! HURRY! TO THE ARMAMENTS!" The five friends turned to each other and gave small smiles as everyone else at the party scattered. "Well," Rose said with a sad smile, "guess this is it." "Yeah. I hope we win," Raye replied. "Shall we?" Mina asked as she placed her hand in the center of the group. "For our families," Lita said with a smile as she and Rose added their hands. "And friends," Amy added and placed her hand on top of Rayes'. "Only if you promise not to leave me," Princess Serenity whispered as her hand covered all of theirs. Endymion's bigger hand covered all of the girls and they looked at him to see what he would add. "No matter what, we all come back and fulfill our greatest dreams. All of us," he looked into each of the Sailor Scout's eyes, "have to swear that we'll come back." "I swear," all of the replied as they pulled out the pens. "MERCURY POWER!" "MARS POWER!" "JUPITER POWER!" "VENUS POWER!" "EARTH POWER!" "You should go, my sweet," Endymion whispered to Serenity as he hugged her. Serenity stepped back and thought for a moment. She ran to the safely of her love's arms again, kissing him passionately one last time before running towards her mother. Turning around, she yelled to them, "DON'T FORGET! ALL OF YOU PROMISED!" As the Sailor Scout's and Endymion ran, they went separate ways. It was Sailors Mercury, Mars, Jupiter and Venus who spotted Metalia first and went to fight her. Sailor Earth ran in the direction that she heard a laugh come from. A very familiar laugh. She cast one look back at her friends and smiled as she saw them release their powers at her. Her smile turned to horror as she watched Queen Metalia turn their powers against them, and kill them all in one blow. "NO!" Sailor Earth screamed as she watched her friends fall lifeless to the ground. "NO! YOU PROMISED!" she screamed as she got ready to run to them, only to be stopped when she heard that laugh again. "Very soon the entire Universe will be under my control! I'll have Queen Serenity begging for mercy! Queen Metalia, Now is the birth of our Dark Kingdom! The Universe is no longer! Only the Negaverse will prevail!" she yelled as she released more energy from her staff. "BERYL!!" Sailor Earth yelled as she ran to the woman and swung her staff at her. "Do you really think you can stop me, Sailor Earth?" the woman with dark red hair said to Sailor Earth. Sailor Earth held her position and glared at the witch in front of her. "You killed them," she whispered in a dead, emotionless voice. "You killed my best friends!" She didn't cry. There was no need to cry now. The woman laughed and grinned. "Oh, I'm far from done, Roselyn. Your friends died...honorably. They died in battle. No death is more noble then that, don't you agree?" Sailor Earth held her staff ready. "You're going to die, Beryl. I swear to it." "EARTH CYCLONE WINDS!" "EARTH MAGMA BOIL!" The two attacks swirled together to strike Queen Beryl, but the Queen of Darkness simply stood there as though her power was nothing as it disintegrated against and invisible barrier. Sailor Earth gasped. "My turn," Beryl whispered as she raised her hand. In it, a gleaming sword suddenly appeared. She swung at Sailor Earth with all her might and Sailor Earth jumped out of the way and blocked the next blow with her staff. Queen Beryl kicked her off and she fell to the ground. Holding the sword at her throat, Queen Beryl smiled wickedly at the sixteen-year-old and in one swift motion, stabbed the sword right threw her heart. "I do believe that there is only one Princess left. She'll be joining you shortly," Queen Beryl cackled as she disappeared. 'This is it, isn't it?' Sailor Earth thought. 'I'm going to die. Nothing can stop it now. I-I only wish that I had fallen in love... I want to see Serey and Endy one last time.' A single tear slid down her cheek. "I was too rash," she whispered. She cringed as pain shot through her body. "ROSE!" she heard someone yell as her eyelids became heavier and her breath shorter. "Endy..." Sailor Earth whispered as her brother ran towards her and cradled her in his arms. "Oh my god...Rose, who did this to you?" he whispered gently. Rose closed her eyes. "I'm sorry that I couldn't keep our promise. I really did plan on coming back." She coughed and smiled at him. Her breathing became ragged as she heard her more sounds of war come to her ears. 'A pointless war.' "Just get to Serenity in time. Beryl has gone to kill her." "Rose..." "GO!" she yelled with as much strength as she could. "You don't have much time, and I won't have the Princess' death on my hands! See ya, Endy-brat," she whispered as her eyes closed for the final time and her breath released from her chest. Bowing his head, Endymion let a tear trickle down his cheek. "Goodbye, Rose," Endymion whispered as he stood up. Turning toward Serenity's balcony, he saw her standing out side watching the war. He heard a cry of anguish and saw Terren standing beside his mistress weeping over her body. Endymion didn't look back as he ran towards his love at a blinding speed. He wouldn't loose her. No matter what. ******************************************************************* "And you know the rest," Queen Serenity finished as the Sailor Scouts began to cry on each other's shoulders. Tuxedo Mask and Sailor Earth were hugging as the memories flood their senses. "Mother," Sailor Moon whispered. "Were Stephen and Gaia reborn, too? Where are they?" "That is another thing I wish I could change," Serenity told her daughter. "They were reborn. They were reborn and Steven and Gwen Shields. Darien and Rose's parents again." "But that would mean..." Tuxedo Mask trailed off. "Yes. They were killed in the accident." Queen Serenity sighed. "Do each of you remember a time in your life where something awful happened and you couldn't change it? The one thing that brought you to where you are now?" "Mother and Father dying," Earth whispered as she wiped her tears. "The plane crash," Jupiter said. "I got very sick and changed schools when people thought I was contagious," Mina answered. "My mom dying and dad abandoning me," Raye gritted her teeth. "When our house caught on fire," was Amy's answer. Serena said nothing and shook her head. "All of you coming together was not just fate, but also the Negaverse. Don't talk!" she instructed when she saw them open their mouths to speak. "Listen." ******************************************************************* (August third, fifteen years ago.) A little boy giggled and looked out the car window as he asked his parents a question. "Mommy, Daddy, where are we going?" the boy with black hair asked excitedly. "Birday! Birday! BIRDAY!" a two-year-old in a car seat next to him said through her giggles. The woman in the front seat gasped and turned around, "Rosie, honey, shhh!" she told the youngest while putting her fingers to her lips. "Don't tell Darien where we're going!" "AW! Come on, Mom!" Darien said with a small pout. His mother shook her head and turned back around. "If I told you, it wouldn't be a surprise, would it?" "I'll act surprised!" he told his parents with hope shinning in his eyes. His father chuckled and turned around in his seat slightly. "Son, you know we can't-" "OH GOD! LOOK OUT!" his wife suddenly screamed. The man turned around and saw a woman standing in the center of the road. He swerved the wheel left to avoid her. He had swerved too much. The car skidded off the road and went through the safety dividers to the edge of the cliff. Darien and Rosie screamed and held on to the car for dear life. "MAMA! PAPA!" they cried as the car lurched over the side of the cliff and into the trees below. During this whole time, the woman did not flinch. She chuckled evilly and teleported to the bottom of the ridge where the car had landed. The woman held her staff in her hands tightly and went closer to the car, which was in flames. She laughed again. "I think it's safe to say my Queen," a man spoke up from behind her, "that Sailor Earth shall never awaken." The woman turned to face the man with silver blond hair and smiled again, her pointed teeth shown in the moonlight. She stepped forward cautiously in her tight purple dress. "I suppose so. Let's leave. We have four more Brats and the Princess to find before I will feel safe trying to take over this world." The little boy on the ground felt his eyelids getting droopy. He watched in awe as the people disappeared in flashes of light. His breathing slowed and he succumbed to the pain he felt and passed out whispering "Rosie no...Serenity... help..." ******************************************************************* (Present) "And help I did," Serenity said with a sad smile. "I found Roselyn off to the side of the road and took her in for a couple of days, until she was doing better before taking her to a local hospital and disappearing. The man that caused this crash was named Pyroxene. (AN: It's a real gem! I looked it up!) He was the fifth of Beryl Generals and was in charge of finding all of the Sailor Scouts in their reincarnated forms. And he succeeded many times." "He thought that Jupiter would be on the plane that her parents were on, and caused the difficulties on the plane. Venus, he made you sick and I was lucky that Sailor Saturn could heal you when she did! The car that hit Mars' mother was actually intended for her, but your mother selflessly covered you with her body. He, Mercury, started your house fire. He thought every time that he had killed you, but luckily, you all survived and when Queen Beryl found out about his failure, she killed him. Though she probably would have anyway. He never did find out who Serenity and Endymion were." "Sounds like her," Tuxedo Mask muttered under his breath. "And he was the only one who knew all of the names, right?" "Yes. She may be strong, but foolish. I'm sorry that all this had to happen to you," the Queen apologized. "Oh, Endymion! I almost forgot!" she said as she spread her arms wide. "This is yours," she told him as a sword appeared floating in-between her arms. Tuxedo Mask walked up and took the sword from her. "It is the Terra sword. It once belonged to your father. Guard it well," she instructed. Tuxedo Mask nodded and bowed. "I will, My Queen." "I wish I could-" Queen Serenity started. "Don't," Mars said in a reassuring tone. "If these things hadn't happened, than who knows where the world would be! Anything could have happened, but now..." "The old wounds have healed, My Queen," Mercury told her. "We will be fine. We have each other." "And we fulfilled our promise!" Venus exclaimed. Smiling, Queen Serenity spoke again. "Then that is all I have to say. It's time for you to go home." Sailor Moon looked up at her mother and nodded. "Yes. The others will be worried. Thank you, Mama." In a flash of light, Queen Serenity stood once again and Princess Serenity across from her. The Princess rushed to her mother's arms and they hugged tightly. Slowly, Tuxedo Mask, now Endymion, joined them. The Sailor Scouts, cats and Rini soon followed. While still holding on to each other, the Queen waved her hand, and all of them disappeared. "Don't forget," she whispered, "I'm always here if you need me." ******************************************************************* The flash of light caught the eye of everyone inside the Tsukino's house. Standing, the Tsukino's, Andrew, Greg, Sapphire and the four sisters ran for the backyard. Standing there were seven people and three cats who looked like they had just gotten the shock of their lives. "SERENA!" Illene yelled as she ran across the lawn to her daughter. Hugging her to her chest tightly, Illene noticed that Serena wasn't responding. In fact, no one was even moving. "Serena? Everyone? What's wrong?" she asked gently. Serena looked into her mother's eyes and tears spilled down her cheeks. "Oh no!" Illene exclaimed. "The future's not...gone is it?!" "Serena?" Sammy whispered. "We never made it to the future," Rini whispered. "We were too caught up in the past to worry about the future." Not understanding what Rini was saying, the Sailor Scouts, Rini and cats led the Tsukino's and the others back inside, leaving Sailors Moon and Earth and Tuxedo Mask outside to let what they had seen sink in. ******************************************************************* When they were done explaining what they had seen an hour later, the others came back inside. "So, when are we going to the future?" Rose asked as she sat down. The girls looked at each other and shrugged. Amy was about to open her mouth, when Serena suggested something instead. "Next weekend. We have to be here for the Christmas dance on Friday," she said with a smile. Darien wrapped and arm around Serena's shoulders and kissed her cheek. "Now, that sounds like a plan," he whispered into her ear. "Yeah," Mina agreed. "I don't have a date yet," she said a little bluntly, causing Andrew to sigh. "I do," Amy whispered shyly. Several heads popped up and eyes opened wide at her statement. "AMY! GREG! HOW LONG HAS THIS BEEN GOING ON?!" Lita demanded causing the couple to blush. "Oh shut up, Lita!" Raye snapped. "Who are you going with? Ken?" she teased. "Uh-uh...are you bringing Chad!?" she asked. "It is an all school dance!" "Well, that is...Who are you bringing Rose?" Rose flushed red. "Well, I kinda wanna ask.......Tim," she finished hurriedly. "OOOOOHHHHHHHHHHH!" the girls teased. "Shh!" Rini hissed from her place on the floor. All of the people in the room turned to look at her and she pointed to her parents. Every nodded and got up, leaving the couple to their dreams. Not even Mr. Tsukino protested to his daughter sleeping in Darien's arms as he left the room. Besides, he could scare the boy out of his wits later.
