Serena rolled her head to the side and coughed slightly, feeling a heaviness in her lungs and her head as she did so. 'It hurts...' she thought as she fought to open her eyes, but found that they were quiet unwilling to do so. She managed one eye to open and saw that she was nowhere she recognized before she managed to pass back out again. ***************************************************************** Alec wrapped his arms around his knees and looked out the window. His sister had run to her room really quick and the baby sitter had followed her, leaving him alone. He sighed and looked out at the destruction that had befallen his city and felt a tear come to his eye but quickly frowned and it fell back into his eye, never being shed. Something sparkled in the distance and Alec blinked. He stood and walked to his window as it happened again, and again, and again. He squinted his eyes and realized that it wasn't one sparkling, blinking light, it was two. And they were coming closer. He watched as the two points came closer and closer to the Palace, seemingly unaware of it's presence. The skin on Alec's arms began to crawl as the tiny lights became larger and closer until they were right in front of him. Around the lights a cloak appeared followed by a pair of hands. Alec opened his mouth to scream, vaguely recognizing the man from a description his parents had given him, but found he was unable to scream. "What are you doing here alone, young Prince?" Wiseman asked as he stared at the young boy. He was able to penetrate the shield for only a brief period of time, and had to work fast. "Did your family abandon you?" Alec became angry and stood up quickly. "Of course not! I'm going to get Daddy!" he cried as he tried to run, but found his feet rooted to the ground. 'I can't move!' he thought desperately. The Wiseman floated over to the boy and cocked his head to the side. "Are you certain about that? After all, did the woman stay with you?" Alec swallowed and shook his head, not finding his voice to speak. "Come to think of it, didn't your father give more attention to that noisy little sister than you?" Wiseman's voice leaked with what could have been mistaken for sympathy. "And your mother, I know she spends almost no time with you and all the spare time she has, she spends with the Small Lady." He smiled underneath his hood. "Isn't that correct?" His breathing was hard, and Alec couldn't answer as more accusations began to fly past him. The Wiseman frowned and pried deeper into the child's mind, to find out what else he had noticed, but didn't care about because he did know that his parents loved him. Wiseman grinned broadly as he found the one piece of information that the boy still didn't understand, and he used it. "Wasn't it your sister that took the Crystal and caused everything that happened to your family? It was her, wasn't it?" Wiseman smiled as he delivered the final blow. "Why weren't you chosen to be the next user of the Silver Crystal and ruler of Crystal Tokyo? You were born first, you have strong magical abilities, as strong as your sisters, but she was chosen instead of you." The words swirled around Alec like snow, and were just as cold and uncaring as the white powder. He didn't answer and as he searched for what he could say to prove the Wiseman wrong, his young mind felt something inside of him snap. "They chose her..." his voice whispered softly, with growing anger. "They chose her! THEY CHOSE HER!" he finally screamed. Wiseman nodded as he watched a blackness fill the boy's light blue eyes. He was levitating off the ground now, seemingly eager to go to the Wiseman. He was offering him freedom. It had been much easier than he had thought. There was the sound of running footsteps and a woman in a Sailor suit with a long black braid ran in. Her dark blue eyes grew wide with fear when she saw the scene before her. "ALEC!" she screamed as she suddenly lurched forward, but was too late as the Wiseman held his hand out and forced a darkness on the woman, throwing her into a nearby wall. Her eyes closed immediately, but she knew that when she woke up, Alec would be gone. (Gee, Alec getting taken seems to be a running theme in my fics.) ***************************************************************** "Are you awake yet, Sailor Moon?" a voice called as Serena slowly awoke again. "You've been out of it for quite some time, love." Serena's eyes opened quicker than before and she sat up, not caring if it made her sick and dizzy. She just wanted to know who, other than Darien, was calling her 'love.' Standing in front of her was a man. His hair was a surprising snow white, as white as the pressed suit he was wearing. His boots were black though, and on his forehead the dark, upside down crescent was clearly seen against his pale skin. Serena's throat was dry, so she didn't ask any questions as she frantically looked at herself, knowing she wasn't in her Sailor suit anymore, and panicked even more as she realized that her locket wasn't in her possession anymore. The man in front of her walked closer to the bed she was on and dropped the small round object he held cupped in his hands to the bed. "Looking for this?" he asked her quietly, yet his voice boomed in her ears. It hurt, but she lunged forward and grabbed the broach. She collapsed backwards again as she felt her energy drop again. Daring to open her mouth, Serena licked her lips and tried to force sound out. "Who are you?" She winced when she was done speaking, but forced another phrase out. "What have you done to me?" Her voice was raspy and felt brittle inside her mouth as she swallowed, willing to give up anything for a drink of water. The man came closer and tilted his head to the side slightly, a smile playing upon his handsome features. "I'm quite surprised you awakened so quickly, but I should have expected it from the bearer of the Silver Crystal, should I not? The Dark Crystal should have had a much more serious effect on you, though, regardless." He frowned slightly at the thought. "No bother." He walked up close to the bed and smiled at the girl in it. "I am Prince Diamond, the future ruler of the Earth and the ruler of the planet Nemesis." Serena blinked as she digested this information. He was the enemy. "Why did to bring me here?" she croaked out. Diamond sat down on the edge of the bed and Serena scooted further away from him, still clutching her locket tightly in her hand. "On that day we attacked, the ruler of this Earth came out from the Palace calling for her children. I saw her then." Diamonds' voice and eyes became far, as though he were remembering the most pivotal moment of his life. "She was dressed in white and looked more beautiful than this world. I had to have her. But when our eyes met, she showed only hatred for me." "So you attacked her?" Serena whispered. "Only so that no one else could have her beauty. Her Soldiers saved her though, and she is trapped now." He reached out his hand and took Serena's hand in his, but she quickly jerked away and got out of the bed. He smirked. "But you are here now. You are her." There was silence for a moment and Diamond used that to freeze Serena in place. Her eyes became wide as she tried to move, but found her body frozen in place. Diamond loomed closer and Serena opened her mouth and screamed. ***************************************************************** Tuxedo Mask ran along the outside of the giant dark crystal Palace, searching desperately for a way in. King Endymion had said that the entrance was on the Southern side of the Crystal, but he had yet to find it. From inside, her heard a scream, and his heart raced. He jumped up onto a ledge and to another. There was another scream. "SERENA!" ***************************************************************** Diamond grabbed Serena's wrist as she screamed again. "It won't do you any good," he told her. "No one can hear you." He leaned in closer to Serena and she felt his control over her slip slightly. Her eyes turned cold and she raised her hand and slapped him across the face, making him stumble backwards. Anger flared in Diamonds blue eyes, turning them a dark shade, almost black. He used his third eye to freeze Serena again and grabbed her chin. "You will bow to me, Neo-Queen Serenity." He leaned in closer to her, his lips mere centimeters away. Serena tried to fight him, she was desperate to pull away. No one could kiss her except Darien. 'Darien...' There was the sound of something piercing the air, and Diamond gasped and let go of Serena as blood dripped down his hand. Serena fell back so that she was sitting on the bed and looked down. "A rose? Darien!" she exclaimed as Tuxedo Mask jumped down so that he was in front of her. Diamond frowned. "I should have expected you, Endymion," he hissed. The blood was still dripping down his hand as he and Tuxedo Mask faced each other. Before Diamond could lift a finger, Tuxedo Mask balled his hand into a fist and punched Diamond in his right eye, causing him to reel back in pain. Diamond covered his eye and hissed at the man, no longer thinking of fighting him. He wasn't here to fight and Diamond knew there would always be other chances. Tuxedo Mask turned around and picked Serena up in his arms. Serena snaked her arms around his neck and held herself closer to him. Tuxedo Mask glared at Diamond, his look begging him to die on the spot, and if Serena hadn't been there and been in danger, Tuxedo Mask wouldn't have hesitated to kill him. "Come near her again, and I will show no mercy." In a sweeping motion, he was gone, leaving only Diamond in the room. ***************************************************************** Sapphire watched as Tuxedo Mask ran from the Dark Palace with Serena is his arms. He never looked back and Sapphire cursed his brothers' stupidity. Even Sapphire knew that his brother was a fool for taking away Neo-Queen Serenity with Endymion right by her. Diamond joined his brother on the balcony, still nursing his black eye. "You didn't go after her." Sapphire kept his voice neutral as he spoke. There was a chuckle before Diamond answered. "No, I didn't. Endymion challenged me, I'm up to the challenge." He smiled. "When the time is right, she will be mine." ***************************************************************** King Endymion listened to the Sailors argue. They were trying to figure out when it had been too much time, and when they should go after Serena and Darien. An invisible wind blew through the Palace and Endymion's head snapped up. The girls stopped arguing and looked at the King. "Endymion, what's wrong?" Artemis questioned. Endymion stood and began to fade from the room. "Something has happened. Alec!" The girls didn't need anymore words and they ran in the direction that they had seen the two children disappear to. Mars almost ran into Rini as they went down the hall. "Rini, what happened?!" Mars demanded. Tears were in Rini's eyes and she shook her head. "Alec's gone, and Aunt Rose is-" Mars didn't let the child finish, and she picked her up and ran to catch up with the others. They reached the end of the hall and a room that looked like a child's playroom. King Endymion was kneeling next to a young woman in a green and blue Sailor suit, asking her if she was okay. The woman shook her head and sat up, wincing. "The Wiseman took Alec...I'm sorry, Endy, I tried to stop him!" As Endymion tried to reassure her that it wasn't her fault, Jupiter coughed and spoke up. "Who's she?" The women looked up and her eyes went wide. Her face paled and she looked two steps beyond panicked. "Oh shiii..Pluto is gonna kill me for this one!" she whispered as she stood. Endymion stepped back and let her stand on her own, not that he could help her anyway. "Don't worry, Rose," Endymion reassured her as she balanced herself on the wall, "Pluto said that if they learned of anything they shouldn't, she would block their memories. Now, what happened?" Rose put her hand to the back of her head and winced when she came away with blood. "Great, and Amy's protecting the Palace right now...I don't know. Somehow the enemy broke through our shield and they took Alec." She shook her head. "I think I'd better get out of here and get down to medical before I either pass out or reveal their future." Rose began to walk out but stopped and turned to the Soldiers. "And in answer to Lita's question, I'm Endymion's little sister, but don't worry, you won't remember when you go back." She smiled as she left the room. "If you need me, you know where I'll be, Endy!" She left and disappeared around the corner. As she walked, her eyes filled with angry tears. 'I can't help...but I pray to what ever God exists that they can!' Mars watched where Rose was and smiled. "She's blunt, I'll like her." "We have to find Alec," Venus exclaimed as she let the shock of who Rose was roll over her like water on a duck. Endymion didn't answer her. "King?" Endymion closed his eyes and he walked to the window. Rini was sniffling and he had to see how the Wiseman had come through the shield. He could sense the hole in it. As he opened his eyes he saw two people down below the window. A man held a young woman in his arms, and held her as tight as he could. Endymion felt a slight pain in his chest as he watched Serena and Darien holding each other, but he turned to the Soldiers who were waiting to be told where Alec was taken. Rini wiped her nose and watched as her father showed no emotion. "I don't know where he is...and Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask are back." His voice was strained and cracked slightly when he admitted to not know where his son went. The girls exchanged looks before they ran out to make sure their Princess and Prince were still in one piece. ***************************************************************** Serena held onto Tuxedo Mask as they ran from the scene. She gripped onto the front of his jacket as they ran far from the cursed darkness to where they would, hopefully, be safe. Serena shivered and pushed herself closer to Tuxedo Mask's warmth. They hadn't spoken since they had left Diamond's and Tuxedo Mask seemed too angry to speak. Serena lay her head against Tuxedo Mask's chest and listened to his heartbeat softly in time with her own. She shivered slightly again, feeling a snowflake fall on her exposed back and Tuxedo Mask stopped. He was breathing hard, but he pulled Serena even closer. "I'm sorry!" Tuxedo Mask gasped out as he cradled Serena close. "He didn't-" Serena shook her head. "No, I'm okay." She took a deep breath. "I promise I'm okay." She smiled up at Tuxedo Mask, but her smile quickly faded when she saw the look in his eyes. Quickly, Tuxedo Mask covered Serena's mouth with his. Serena wasn't shocked, but she did have to smile into the kiss. Tuxedo Mask pulled away a few moments later and looked up. "Snow," he whispered as he set Serena down, only to have her collapse against him, her strength still had not returned. "Are you all right?!" he demanded as he held Serena up. Studying her further, he noticed how pale she looked and how weak she truly was at that moment. "What did that bastard do to you?" "He used the Dark Crystal on me. The negative energy is reacting with my body and making it weak." Tuxedo Mask lowered his head to Serena's and smiled. "I guess I'll have to carry you back then, won't I?" Blushing, Serena closed the gap between their lips and kissed her love again, more passionately this time. They were lost in the sensation of each other, neither wanting nor needing to come back. "SERENA!" Mars yelled as she and the others made their way outside. "Serena!" "Serena!" Tuxedo Mask and Serena broke the kiss with just enough time for Serena to be hit head on by five bodies. She hugged each of her friends before she looked to the little girl who was hugging her knees tightly. Rini sniffled and looked up, her eyes were filled with tears. With Tuxedo Mask's help, Serena kneeled down by the child. "What's wrong, Rini?" she asked as she put her hand on the girl's head. Behind them all, Endymion stood, his eyes on Serena for a moment before he noticed Darien was glaring at him. He glared back before averting his gaze. "Alec's gone! Someone took him, Serena!" Rini cried to the young girl. "WHAT?!" Serena gasped as she stood up suddenly. She saw spots for a moment and nearly feel back down, but Jupiter caught her and held her up. "What happened?" she asked the others. "The Wiseman came and took him," Endymion filled in. "There was a hole in the shield and he came through it." "Something far graver than that has happened, my King," a voice on the wind whispered. Standing to the side of the group was Sailor Pluto. She looked tired and her face was sullen, as though she had just come from a place that no one should speak of or know of. "Something has happened to the Time Line and to the Prince. You are needed back in the twentieth century." Endymion nodded his head. "Please, go back and find Alec for me. I am sorry that I can't join you but-" Venus smiled. "Don't worry about it. Kicking butts is in our job description." Shaking her head at Venus, Mercury smiled at the King. "We will save him, Endymion." Tuxedo Mask also nodded. "We'll find him, King." "Thank you." Endymion turned to Pluto, "Pluto?" "Yes, sire." With a wave of her Time Staff, a portal appeared beside her for the Soldiers to enter. "Go back home, take great care though. And Endymion was right," she finished as she began to fade, "you will not remember anything that will damage the future." And she was gone. "Before we go," Tuxedo Mask addressed the King, "you said you sent me those dreams...why?" Endymion smiled slightly, it was almost amusing to have this conversation with himself. "When Serenity was first encased in the crystal, I almost went insane. My wife was gone, but not only her, my son and daughter as well. But I stayed strong because I knew that they would come back. Somehow they all would. But for now, you had them all, and I remembered some things from when I was younger. There were several reasons I sent you the dreams, one was to prove that you did love her and that you two could survive a hardship. In a way I was trying to prepare you for when you won't have anyone to rely on other than your sister." "Sister?!" Tuxedo Mask exclaimed. Laughing slightly, Endymion shook his head. "You won't even remember me mentioning her, but yes, sister. Anyway, the other reason was because of what happened the night before you two came here. You realized that you had troubles with your relationship, or at least Serena did, and some of them were from your lack of trust. If those issues had not been solved now, then they would have come up again in several years. The future could have been destroyed because you two were going to have an argument." "Are we that important?" Serena's voice held curiosity, amazement and even fear as she asked the simple question. "The last reason is one that I won't disclose, but I think Darien knows it." Endymion turned to his younger self, who nodded. He knew. And he couldn't blame him. As Darien, he had Serenity, and the two children. Endymion had none of them right now. Jealousy. "One last question," Serena spoke up, not noticing what Endymion was talking about. "Yes?" "So...I wasn't in any danger because of the dreams? I mean...it was all just a test?" she asked. "Yes." Looking puzzled, Endymion spoke again, "Why do you ask?" Several heads turned and looked back at the small black and white cats that where desperately trying to hide from the angry looks they were getting. "Umm...I'm sorry?" Luna mumbled. "We didn't know!" Artemis told them. "Let's go, guys," Serena said with a half laugh in her voice. She smiled at her future husband. "Thank you, Endymion. Thank you." Tuxedo Mask knelt down and picked up Rini, letting Jupiter and Mars help Serena walk. "You are welcome." Endymion smiled to his daughter. "I would not be able to protect you or care for you if you were to stay here, Small Lady." Rini nodded her understanding, her eyes finally dry. "Go with them, your mother and father will protect you where I can not." Rini's eyes got wide, and Tuxedo Mask took that as the cue to leave. "Mother and father?!" The portal closed as the last Soldier, Mercury, stepped through it. Endymion closed his eyes and turned back to the Palace, only to see his sister standing behind him, leaning up against a tree. "What now, Rose?" Rose stood up straight and shook her head. "You son of a bitch, you're jealous of him." She smiled though. "Don't worry, we'll get Alec back, and Sere will wake up sometime. Hell, that girl can't sleep forever!" Endymion rolled his eyes. "I will never figure out where you got your sense of tact, Rose." Rose's smile turned to a grin. "It's not much better than yours!" ***************************************************************** It was dark, but Alec didn't care, he embraced it. He embraced the darkness that surrounded him as though it were a blanket. For now, it was all he had, because he didn't have anything else. From the dark, the Wiseman had been feeding the child dark energy and showing him how little his parents and sister cared. There were two things, he noticed, that fueled the anger that Alec already had. One was that he didn't understand why Rini got the throne and he didn't. The second was what was going to push him over the edge, the Wiseman knew it. "Again," he hissed. "Again, I can see your sister. She is the one you truly hate, isn't she? She will receive the throne where you will not, but that doesn't bother you as much as what she did to your mother, does it? You don't want the throne, you just want to understand why she gets it. But I digress." He chuckled. "Your sister, she was the one who took the Silver Crystal, am I right?" Alec gasped as the memory of Rini taking the Crystal filled his mind. He had been with her when she did it, trying to tell her not to, wondering what would happen. Seconds later, the Palace had been attacked and their mother had ended up as she was now. "Yes, she did take it. And after that, your mother was trapped in the Crystal...and all because of your sister." Alec clenched his fists and swallowed hard. "She needs to be punished, because you know your parents would never punish her, you should be the one to do so, Prince," the Wiseman told him. "I can give you the power to punish her, and those Soldiers who wouldn't protect your mother." "Rini must be punished," Alec agreed. "I want the power," he said softly. "Please, I want the power!" The Wiseman laughed and did as the Prince asked. He had been trying to convince him for over an hour that he needed to punish those who were against him, and it had taken the people closest to him to convince him of that. The child was stronger minded than he had thought, but he was still too weak to survive much of what the Wiseman had planned. He watched as the child grew into a man, he wore a dark suit similar to Prince Diamond's and his hair was streaked black and silver. On his brow was the sign of the Dark Moon. When the transformation was complete, he knew that his doubts of if Alec would be able to complete his mission were gone. "Welcome to our family, Dark Lord." ***************************************************************** Jamie Anderson finished telling the Hino Priest and Chad Kumada the story of their granddaughter and friend, Raye. After reading the letter, the Hino Priest, who insisted on being called "Grandpa" asked for more details on where his granddaughter was and how much danger she was in. "And right now, they are in the thirtieth century, trying to save the world there. I figured I should tell you first since I asked all of the others to meet here later tonight." Jamie's eyes were filled with tears. "Two days, I promised them I'd wait three, but I knew everyone would worry." Grandpa nodded. "You did the right thing, Dr. Mizuno. But now...I don't know, Sailor Mars. I never would have guessed." Chad rubbed the back of his head. "That means that all those times I saw monsters were real and she was lying to me!" Jamie laughed slightly. "Yes, but I don't know when they'll be back...they didn't know, and that's why they told me to give their friends and family notes." There was a sound of thunder outside and the three looked out the door in time to see a pink cloud form over head followed by seven bodies and two cats being spit from it and landing on the ground. "I'd say they are back," Grandpa announced as he stood. Jamie stood and ran out the door. "AMY!" she exclaimed. Slowly, Sailor Mercury was standing up, and helping Venus up as she did so. She let go of her fellow Soldier and hugged her mother as she came running up to her. Venus fell back on her butt and glowered up at her friend. "Mom! I'm so happy to see you," Amy exclaimed. Jamie let go of her daughter and turned to Sailor Mars. "Raye, I...I'm sorry. But it's been two days, so I called everyone and asked them to meet here tonight, but I just got through with-" "Raye, is that really you?" Grandpa asked as he and Chad stepped out of the house and into view. Each of the Soldiers seemed to pale slightly and Mars blinked. "You told them a day early...WAIT! WE'VE BEEN GONE FOR TWO DAYS?!" Sailor Moon, having transformed in the Time Stream, blinked. "But we were only there for a few hours!" Rini shook her head. "Sometimes you end up in a different time than you left, but as long as you return to the time you are supposed to be in, you won't mess up the Time Line." There was silence for a moment before a chill swept through the Temple grounds. Mars wrapped her arms around herself and shivered. "An evil wind..." she whispered. A man's laugh filled the area surrounding them and Tuxedo Mask pulled Sailor Moon as close as he could. "Could it be Diamond?" Jupiter got into a fighting stance and scoffed. "Yea, someone I have no problem killing." In a blaze of black light, a man appeared before him. Somehow he looked familiar. His hair and eye shape was familiar, he had black hair streaked with silver. Sailor Moon studied him for a moment before gasping. He looked like Darien. "Quoting Pluto, Rini?" His voice was deep and melodious, soothing in a way, but also had a black lining. "I never thought you would be that smart," he hesitated on the last word, "sister." To Be Continued... *big grins* Tee-hee...I hope you liked it! I did spend a long time on it! Couple more chapters guys! Just a couple more!
