"Mother? What are you talking about?" she tried to cover up, but her voice was shaky. "Sailor Mercury is an urban legend!" she exclaimed, throwing a laugh in with the statement to make it seem as though she believed what she was saying. Her mother wasn't buying it. "Mom...Please..." Amy whispered. Jamie Anderson (AN: She is never given a name in SM, so I'm giving her one) shook her head. "I already called you in sick today, Amy. Go to bed and when you wake up, I'll listen to what you have to say." Amy nodded and rushed passed her mother to her room, where she shut the door, a look of panic clear on her face. "Oh God!" ******************************************************************* Serena paused outside of the Mizuno's apartment and looked up at it worriedly. Amy hadn't come to class, and that had shocked everyone into believing that the Apocalypse was here. Serena hadn't wanted to go to school, but she couldn't skip it again, though Lita stayed home to catch up on her beauty sleep. She poised to ring the bell to call up to her penthouse, but something stopped Serena; she just couldn't bring herself to ask why Amy, who pulled all-nighters all the time, wasn't at school. As she walked off to go and pick up Rini and Alec, Serena didn't see the blue haired woman looking at her from one of the top floors, a knowing look on her face. ******************************************************************* Serena was late. She was very late. BEYOND late, even. Alec and Rini had been waiting at their school for well over forty- five minutes for Serena, Darien or one of the girls to arrive and take them home. They lived nearly three miles from the school, so they couldn't walk home alone, or at least not without a group of friends "Where is she?!" Rini demanded, on the verge of tears. Alec gave her a look out of the corner of his eye, but didn't say anything. Lately, it seemed Rini was always trying to find some fault in Serena. She was forcing herself not to like her; sometimes it seemed as though it was working, but Alec knew his sister better than that. And he couldn't say anything about it to her, if he did, she would just deny it and attempt to lie about it. While Alec could honestly say he looked and acted like his father, but when it came to being stubborn, Rini topped him, even in that category. "She probably had to stay after school, Rini," Alec told her. "It's not a big deal, she can have a life, Rini." "It's not the point!" Rini yelled, her tears finally spilling over. "She forgot about us, I know it, Alec! She forgot! BECAUSE SHE DOESN'T CARE!" she screamed. "She cares, Rini," Alec whispered. "We're just not nice to h-" "SHE HATES US!" Rini continued yelling. "She doesn't care if she's late picking us up, and she doesn't care if the Dark Moon wants us!" Alec's head snapped up. "Rini, that's not true! She does care, but we don't show it and she doesn't! She wants to protect you, just like mom did!" The word 'mom' echoed in Rini's mind along with 'fault' 'death' and 'all mine'. "SHE'S NOT MOM!" "Rini..." a voice whispered from beside the two. Rini and Alec looked up, and saw Serena standing beside the two of them, her face a mask of pain and questions. "Rini...I do care about you. I'm not your mother, but I do care," she whispered. "You don't know what it's like, Serena," Rini's voice dropped. "You don't know what it's like to have people after you all the time, just because you were born." Serena lowered herself down until she was level with Rini. "I do understand, and I want to be your friend, Rini. I didn't forget you; I had detention for being late to school. I would never forget you, or Alec. You may not be my cousins, and I'll never figure out how mom and dad think you are, but Alec is my friend and, even if you don't want to admit that, *we* are friends, Rini. " Rini looked up, started at the older girls' words. For the past weeks, all Rini had done was make fun of Serena, and tell her she didn't want to be her friend, but Alec was the one who had been getting close to her. She saw them talking after school, and she was afraid of what Alec was doing. It seemed that he was trying to replace her mother, the one that was still at their home, in more danger than this world was. "Alec shouldn't be your friend...I don't want to be your friend!" Rini exclaimed as she turned around and ran off. "Rini!" Alec yelled after her as he got ready to run after her, but she had already turned the corner and was out of sight. "She's so stubborn...like dad." Serena closed her eyes and took several deep breaths before letting it out and looked at Alec. "Do you know where she'll go?" Shaking his head, Alec didn't avert his eyes from the place he had last seen his younger sister. "Anywhere she can be alone." Alec thought it over for a moment, before continuing. "She wasn't always like this. Rini's actually very cheerful and fun to be around. But ever since the accident with mom..." he trailed off slightly before continuing. "She just hasn't been the same. She's trying to make up for it, even though she knows it won't bring mom back. But when we do get mom and dad back, I know you'll be friends, Serena." Serena looked at the boy in awe. What he had just said...the way he had said it...She closed her eyes. 'It can't be,' she convinced herself. ******************************************************************* Jamie slowly stirred the soup she was making. It had been years since she had made real, homemade, soup; or almost anything else for that matter. She never realized how much she missed taking care of her daughter and her home. But now she knew why she had missed her daughter's most important secret. She was never there. "Mom?" Amy called with a slight yawn in her voice as she walked into the kitchen. "Are you in here?" she asked as she rounded the corner. She gasped when she saw her mother in an apron, setting out two bowls of soup on the kitchen table. "Mom?" "Sit down, Amy," Jamie instructed. "We have a lot to talk about, and I don't want you to lie to me either," she whispered. Nodding, Amy sat down across from her mother and picked up the spoon. Putting the soup in her mouth, Amy did a double take. "Grandmother's recipe..." she mumbled to herself as she ate more, not stopping until her bowl was empty. Jamie smiled. "At least your appetite is healthy." She cleared the table and sat back down across from her daughter. "Are you going to talk about it?" There was a sigh from across the table and Amy nodded. "Yes...I don't see any other way out of this with out telling the Princess... but she is in no condition to do anything about it, I suppose..." Amy pondered. 'I could always use my computer. It worked on the Tsukino's!*' she thought excitedly, but looking up at her mother, she knew that she couldn't do that to her, not now that she knew the truth. "If I may ask, how did you figure it out, Mother?" A smile greeted Amy as she looked up. "Sailor Venus said your name right after she closed the door on Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask. Because they were kissing, am I right?" she asked with an eyebrow cocked. Amy sighed. "Yes...it's the second time this week Sailor Moon was almost lost to us, so Tuxedo Mask was very happy she was okay." "Amy...have you ever been hurt?" Jamie asked her daughter. Amy gave a start and looked down. She couldn't avoid this question, and it was better to say it now, then to wait. "Yes. I have died in battle for my Princess, and I will again to protect her. I have been injured and on the verge of death several times, but I will still fight." Jamie was taken aback by her daughter's honesty and closed her eyes, trying to block the image of her daughter in pain that she could not help, or prevent. "Why?" They sat in silence for a few moments before Amy started again. "One thousand years ago, there was a beautiful kingdom on the Moon, called the Silver Millennium." It didn't take Amy very long to go over all the major details of what had happened in the past six or so months and thousand years, but her mother didn't interrupt even once, and let Amy finish. "Incredible..." Jamie whispered in awe. Her awe soon turned to horror as she realized that she should have know, she should have seen all of the signs that her daughter was out doing these things. "Amy...I'm always away from you," she began. Amy quickly shook her head. "Don't, mom. You weren't supposed to see it, and you were never supposed to know. Mrs. Tsukino doesn't work, she hasn't found out. Neither has Raye's Grandfather, and we hold meetings almost daily at his Temple! No one is supposed to know, and it should have stayed that way." She sighed. "Luna's going to have a fit when she finds out about this...I hope she blames Mina and not me though..." she muttered to herself. Jamie and Amy laughed slightly, but a beeping sound cut them off. Amy blinked and reached into her jean pocket, pulling out her watch-like communicator. Making sure her mother wouldn't be in the shot, she flipped it open and sighed. "Please, not another one!" she begged Serena, who was on the other line. Serena shook her head, tear streaks clear on her faces. "Rini's run off, Amy! I can't find her anywhere, and I have a REALLY bad feeling about this!" Amy's eyes went wide and she bit her lip. "Okay, I'll call the others, you get Darien-" "Done," Darien said as his face also popped up onto the screen. "Alec's with us, he doesn't know where she went to either. Get the girls, and start looking." "And be prepared to fight," Serena added as the line went dead. Jamie looked at her daughter, an expression of worry on her face. "Amy, what does this mean?" she asked. Amy stood and began explaining. "As I said before, Mom, we don't know who Rini and Alec are, but they appear to be the enemies of our enemies, even though they are such small children. If Rini is alone out there, there is a high probability that the Dark Moon may attack her, so we need to find her." Nodding her understanding, Jaime walked to the counter and grabbed her keys. "Come on, Amy. I don't want you out there alone, and driving will let us cover more ground, faster." As Amy opened her mouth to protest, her mother cut her off. "I won't get involved if a battle does begin, but you are not going out of this house without me!" "Yes, Mother." (AN to all you Mom's out there: HOW DO YOU DO THAT TO US KIDS?!?!) ******************************************************************* "You failed again, and again, Sisters!" Rubeus yelled at his "team." "Did you forget to bring your powers when you came to this world?!" he demanded from them. The sisters still didn't say anything and simply took their punishment as Rubeus continued on. "Please, Rubeus!" Prisma yelled, cutting him off. "We know what we've done wrong, and we know what will happen to us, to all of us, if we don't succeed. I think we need to really pull together and go the next mission as one, not separate," she suggested. Rubeus though the idea over for a moment, but was brought out of his world by a laugh. A familiar, sickening, evil laugh that sent shivers up everyone's spine. "Ah, damn it!" Birdy swore. "And here I thought the day couldn't get any worse than it already was!" There was a flash of green light and a woman appeared between Rubeus and the Four Sisters. She had bright green hair and tight, form- fitting black dress with three large jewels above the neck of the dress. She also carried a bright pink fan in her hand. "Well, well, well, hard at work, I see!" the woman sad with another laugh. "Emerald," Rubeus growled, "what are you doing here?" Emerald turned to face Rubeus. "The tenth street high school. Prince Diamond and Wiseman want you to go there. This is your last chance, for all of you. Prince Diamond sent me to carry out his wishes if you should fail." ******************************************************************* Faster and faster, further and further, colder and colder. Rini wasn't looking at where she was going, and she really didn't care. All she cared about was getting as far away from those people, people who she wanted, oh so desperately, to care about her, but people she couldn't let near her. If she let them near her, they would just end up like her mother. 'It's your fault! It's all your fault!' she told herself as she fell down and skinned her knee. Rini lay there, crying, and didn't get up as her tears kept coming. "I want my mommy..." she whispered. Holding out the Luna P ball she pushed the nose on it and watched as a woman appeared in one of the eyes. "Pu?" she whispered while wiping her nose. The woman looked startled for a moment, as though she had been expecting someone else, but smiled. "Hello, Small Lady," she greeted. "How are you feeling today?" "I'm scared Pu," Rini said through a choked sob. "I want to go home!" The woman cringed and looked reluctant. "I'm sorry, Small Lady. But you and Alec must stay in this time. It's much safer for you to be here and you're making so many friends!" Rini's face became angry and she shook her head. "That's not true! I hate Serena! She's...she's..." Rini couldn't finish her sentence and bit her lip. "Like your mother?" Pu supplied in a gentle voice. Rini gasped, and didn't hear the woman as she said her good byes. Serena was nothing like her mother! Her mother was beautiful, smart, funny, kind, loving...Serena wasn't like that. Rini looked back to Luna P so she could deny the information, but saw that Pu had disappeared. Closing her eyes, a tear made its' way down her cheek. "Mama...I WANT MY MOMMY!" she screamed, causing a golden crescent moon to appear on her forehead. "MOMMY!!!!!!!!" ******************************************************************* "Damn her, I hate Emerald!" Avery complained as she floated above the softball fields in wait for one of the rabbits, who were supposed to show up very soon. "I know, Sister," Catsy said as she appeared next to Avery. "And if we fail again, she's going to take over and do just as bad, if not worse, than we have," she muttered. "Yeah..." Avery agreed with a sigh, which was quickly followed by a gasp when a yellow light shot through the sky. "The Wiseman was right!" ******************************************************************* "RINI!" Darien yelled as he and Alec ran down the street towards some of the smaller shops that lined Tokyo's Tenth Street. "Sis, where are you?" Alec whispered to himself as he stopped and looked around. The Tenth Street High School, better know as Crossroads High, was right across from where they were. A bright light filled the sky and Darien and Alec stopped to stare for but a moment before Alec ran off. "RINI YOU IDIOT!" he screamed as he went towards his sister. ******************************************************************* Jamie sped down the street like there was no tomorrow. Fast enough to get pulled over, and possibly arrested, but slow enough so that Amy could see out the window and look for Rini or one of her friends. Reaching into her dimensional pocket, Amy pulled out her mini computer and began typing frantically into it. "Come on, come on!" she muttered. "What is that, Amy?" Jamie asked as she turned onto another road. Amy didn't look up as she explained to her mother. "This is my Mercury Palm Top Data Computer. I use it to analyze the creatures we fight against to help locate the weaknesses so that Sailor Moon can destroy it. It is also handy for scanning runaway children and finding out where they are right now," she added. Jamie smiled at her daughter before turning back to the road. "Well, well, I see there is a method to your madness, Amy!" Jamie's eyes got impossibly wide and she slammed on the breaks of her care. "What they hell is that?!" she demanded as she looked at the bright yellow column of light coming from nearby. "Oh no!" Amy gasped. ******************************************************************* Rini finally stopped screaming and went back to simply silently crying to herself. "RINI!" Alec called as he came up to where Rini was lying on the ground. Sniffling, Rini looked up and saw her brother standing over her, offering his hand. "A-Alec?" she cried with a hiccup. Alec hauled Rini to her feet and looked around. "Rini, you idiot! You released your energy! They could be here, we need to leave, now!" he yelled as he began to drag her off. There was a laugh followed by a stream of dark fire that stopped the children in their tracks. "Wiseman was right, you two are both here, what a lucky thing for us!" Catsy said as she appeared before the two children, shortly followed by Avery, Birdy and Prisma. "Stop right there!" Every turned to the entrance to the school, expecting Sailor Moon, but who they saw was not what they were expecting. Serena yelled as she rounded the corner and ran in front of the children, her arms spread out in ready position to protect them. "I won't let you touch these children!" she told the four Sisters. Avery pulled her whip out and smiled. "Well girls, it seems we have a hero in our midst. Let's make sure she gets a quick and painless death." "No way!" came voices from off to the side. The Four Sisters turned to the side, and Sailor Moon took that opportunity to kneel next to both children and make sure they were uninjured. Satisfied that they weren't, they all three turned their attention toward the impending battle, and were not surprised by the match ups. Water vs. Dark Water Fire vs. Black Fire Lightening vs. Black Lightening Love vs. Hate "My God," Serena whispered as she held both children closer to her. In seconds, the battle began. No one gained nor lost ground, but they each simply came at a stalemate and both sides stopped for a moment, before starting again and continuing the fight. 'No! By the Silver Crystal, no!' Serena thought as she watched her friends continue the battle. 'I have to help them...' "So, you think you can be a hero, Child?" a voice from above her hissed. Serena looked up and gasped when she saw a man floating above her. He had flame red hair and wore strange clothes, but what really alerted Serena was the black crescent moon on his forehead. He was one of them. Gritting her teeth, and wishing she had transformed before hand, she answered him. "I will protect these two with my life! You will never get your hands on them! Why do you want them anyway?" she asked. Rubeus chuckled. "Well, we need to change the future, what better way than to threaten the rulers with their children?" He lowered himself to the ground and began walking forward. "You're sick!" Serena yelled as she and the others began backing up. There was something like a gunshot, and a red rose appeared between Rubeus and Serena. As Tuxedo Mask began his speech, Rubeus laughed and launched several small balls of small, purple energy at Serena and the young Prince and Princess. With out thinking twice, Serena used her body as a shield and thanked God what Rubeus didn't use even a fraction of his power; that had been a warning shot. "SERENA!" Tuxedo Mask yelled as he ran to her. But before he could get there, he knew what she was going to do. He could see her reaching for the locket in her sweater, he could feel her hatred at the man who would harm children, and he could hear her apology as she held her hand in the air. "MOON CRYSTAL POWER!" Rini's throat constricted as she watched ribbons and feathers consume Serena's body. The shock was too much and she felt her tears coming again. "NO!" she yelled as Serena's transformation finished. 'It can't be! It can't be!!' Being the calmer one, all Alec could do was put his hand on Rini's shoulder, causing her to realize that he had already known, but that he didn't care. 'Then Darien is Tuxedo Mask,' Rini realized. 'And the girls...Amy, Rei, Mina and Lita, are the Soldiers.' "YOU!" Rubeus hissed, catching the attention of the eight women who were still battling. His anger soon turned to amusement and he laughed. "You aren't all that strong!" he announced, catching everyone off guard. "Sailor Moon is the strongest in the Universe!" Rini called out as a desperate attempt to stop where this was heading. Rubeus took more steps forward, but was blocked by Tuxedo Mask. "Well, if she's so strong," he began, "then why isn't she in the time we are from, Rini? Everyone knows that Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask are dead in our time-" "SHUT UP!" Alec yelled. "They aren't...YOU COULD DESTROY THE FUTURE!" he told Rubeus in a panic. "Isn't that what I'm here for anyway?" Rubeus asked the boy. "Now move," he told Tuxedo Mask, who simply held his ground. "What do you mean?" Sailor Moon asked Rubeus. "What, you mean the brats haven't told you yet?" he asked her with a slightly shocked tone. "No matter. We come from the future, a city named Crystal Tokyo to be exact." "Crystal Tokyo?" Sailor Moon whispered. ******************************************************************* Off to the side, Catsy shook her head. "Why does he have to be so cruel about it? I somehow doubt they wanted to know that." Birdy nodded her agreement. "All he cares about is his own survival now. He doesn't want Emerald to best him!" "Selfish bastard!" Avery hissed. Prisma looked to the clouds, away from the impending fight. "I just want...I want to go home!" During the whole time, the four Soldiers watched the Sisters with interest, a mutual idea forming in all of their heads. ******************************************************************* Rubeus collected energy in his hands and glared at the masked man. In seconds, he had the necessary energy and slammed his hand into Tuxedo Mask's stomach, throwing the black clad man nearly twenty feet into a tree. Sailor Moon was about to run to him, but remembered the two children she was protecting. She turned to Rubeus and opened her eyes wide as she saw more of those energy balls coming towards her. Still holding the children, Sailor Moon attempted to jump out of the way, only to be hit in the shoulder and slammed up against a nearby wall. "Sailor Moon!" Alec and Rini yelled at the same time. Sailor Moon struggled up, her shoulder was throbbing painfully and she was forcing herself into not passing out, which seemed to be a growing theme for her lately. She did, however, fall to her knees as soon as she stood. Rubeus floated above her and smirked. "This is going to be such an honor, to kill the legendary Sailor Moon!" he exclaimed as he got ready to strike again. Sailor Moon made no move to stop him, but a silent plea in the back of her mind forced her to open her eyes. 'Don't leave me!' she heard the children screaming inside of her head. 'Don't leave us, Sailor Moon! Help us save Mom!' "Yes..." Sailor Moon whispered. "I have to help save them, and their mother!" she yelled as she stood up. Rubeus looked shocked for a moment. "I won't fail, and even if I am gone in your future, I won't be until these children are safe! For harming innocent children, I shall punish you!" Rubeus glared at the Soldier and prepared to do exactly as she was, attack. He launched his powers, just as she did. "MOON SCEPTER ELIMINATION!" "Come on Sailor Moon!" the others cheered from the sides of the battle. There was nearly no contest, and Sailor Moon easily had a stronger power than Rubeus did. Rubeus staggered up into the air and took a deep breath. "This isn't over yet!" he announced. "Oh yes it is, Rubeus," a female voice hissed. The Four Sisters gasped. "That can't be!" Avery exclaimed. "It is...It's Emerald!" Prisma hissed as she felt her powers begin to charge up. Rubeus turned to the scantly dressed woman and glowered. "What are you doing here, Emerald?" he demanded. With a laugh that caused everyone to cringe in pain, Emerald floated over to Rubeus. "Oh, poor dear, didn't you understand what I said earlier? Prince Diamond no longer needs you, you've been... TERMINATED!" she yelled as she shot Rubeus with a dark energy that came from her fan. The others looked on in mute horror as there was an explosion. When the dust cleared, Rubeus was no longer there. Emerald turned to the Four Sisters and smiled. "I have no qualms with you, but I don't recommend coming back, we have no place for you." There was another laugh and Emerald disappeared, leaving all of the Soldiers and Sisters to ponder what was to happen next. Sailor Moon felt a hand on her uninjured shoulder and gasped. Looking behind her, she saw Tuxedo Mask smiling at her and nodding his head towards the Sisters. Smiling back, Sailor Moon left the children in his care. "Prisma, Avery, Birdy, Catsy," Sailor Moon called as she walked up to them. She could see that they had nowhere to go, and that they were lost. She had even heard part of what they had said after Rubeus had announced hers and Tuxedo Mask's apparent demise. She knew what she had to offer them. "What is it, Sailor Moon?" Birdy asked with a slightly sad tone of voice. "If you're going to kill us, please get it over with. We were betrayed," she whispered. Sailor Moon heard it, even if she was trying to hide it. She said she wanted to die, but it was hard to wish to die and really mean it. "You can give it up," she told them. Looking at each of them, she could already see their shock and answers coming. "Give up the evil, and let me heal you! You can stay here, with us in Tokyo and do what you want to. Just...let me heal you." Blinking back tears, the Sisters glanced at each other. Prisma, being the oldest, spoke for them. "Please!" "Thank you," Sailor Moon whispered softly as she held her locket up above her head. The top of the locket came off, and revealed a small silver crystal, The Silver Crystal. Catsy's eyes got wide as she recognized who held the Crystal, and who Sailor Moon really was. "MOON CRYSTAL POWER!" ******************************************************************* A half hour later, Alec and Rini listened to Luna lecture Serena about transforming in front of the enemy and two targets. On the other side of the room, Artemis was yelling at Mina for letting a Soldier's real name slip while transformed. Amy and her mother, Jamie, were going over the battle while Raye and Lita told the Four Sisters, now normal human women, some of the most important things they need to know about this world. "I don't want to lose her, Alec," Rini whispered. Amy and her mother, Jamie, were going over the battle while Raye and Lita told the Four Sisters, now normal human women, some of the most important things they need to know about this world. "I don't want to lose her, Alec," Rini whispered to her older brother. "Serena or Darien...they both are so happy, why do they have to be Sailor Moon and Tuxedo Mask?" she asked. Alec shook his head and watched as Darien defended Serena against the black cat. "Dad always did say the universe had a sense of humor," he mumbled. "It wasn't funny when I found out though..." Rini's head shot up and she looked at Alec in awe. "YOU KNEW BEFORE TODAY DIDN'T YOU?!" she yelled, causing all conversations to come to a halt. "You knew who they were!" Serena knelt down in front of them and smiled warmly. Rini sniffed and looked away from the girl, while Alec looked down. "We'll talk about you knowing before hand later, Alec. I meant what I said back there, I care about both of you, I don't want you to be hurt. But if that's going to happen, I need you to trust me, and tell me who you are, what you're doing here, and what Crystal Tokyo is." The Sisters had said that they weren't going to say any of the little bit they did know about them. They were going to have to ask the children themselves, or never know. "Please tell us...what happened to your mother." A sob escaped Rini's throat and she launched herself at Serena. "No, it wasn't my fault! Please Serena, Sailor Moon, help us! We need the Silver Crystal to save our mother!" Serena held the girl in her arms and looked up at Alec, who looked sad, but nothing like Rini. 'He reminds me of Darien before we began dating...quite and alone even though he has friends all around him.' Alec looked away, and avoided eye contact with all present. "There was an attack back home, in Crystal Tokyo, Mom was caught in it and now...we can't help her. Not even dad could, so we came back here to get the Silver Crystal so we could save mom. We never meant for them to follow us!" Alec insisted. "Please, we're...we're sorry!" Serena opened her other arm, and Alec rushed forward and hugged Serena gratefully. "Don't worry, I've never lost before, and I don't intend to now. We'll get your mother back, and get you back home. I swear it on my honor and my fallen home that we will!" ******************************************************************* The sisters, soldiers, cats and Jamie Mizuno watched as Serena and Darien carried the two children back to Serena's house. They hadn't said anything else after Serena's questions, and were probably stressed out about what had happened earlier. "I don't like what Rubeus said," Raye whispered. Luna didn't look up, and kept her gaze on Serena and Darien. "About them not being in the future?" she asked the Priestess. "It can't be true," Lita told the others. "I mean, the Crystal always makes sure they are reborn!" "I didn't hear anything about them not being in the future," Lunar whispered. "Perhaps you girls were imaging it," she said as she walked away, following the path Serena had taken home. "We'll just have to do what we can to protect them, won't we?" "Luna," Artemis called as he ran to catch up with the cat. "I'll walk you home," he offered. "She doesn't want them in any more pain..." Mina whispered with a smile. The women left at the Temple all sighed at the couple before coming to their senses. "So," Amy began, "it looks like we don't just have to worry about Serena any more." The Four Sisters looked away. Somehow, they knew that telling them what they knew would be wrong, and they would be severely punished for it, even if they didn't know who would punish them. ******************************************************************* Jamie Mizuno had listened to what all the girls had been talking at the meeting, even though she didn't understand most of it. But there was one thing she had gotten: each Sailor Soldier didn't really care about their own lives, but more for their Princess and Prince than anything, and they had just found out that they may die. Looking at the silent Soldier of Water sitting in the seat beside her, Jaime couldn't begin to fathom what she was thinking, the fear her daughter was feeling at this time; she doubted she ever would. However, it had been made perfectly clear that if Serena and Darien died, there was a good possibility that either all of the Soldiers were dead too, or that they had been captured, which was even worse. Amy and Jamie said nothing on the way home. ******************************************************************* She was beautiful. Her hair, her face, even the way she closed her eyes was perfect for him. He wanted to reach out and touch her and did. His hand went through her and Diamond shook his head at himself. "One day, Serenity, you will be mine," he said to himself. "Excuse me, Prince Diamond," Emerald interrupted with a hiss in her voice. Diamond banished the image and turned to see the woman kneeling on the ground before him. His brother, Sapphire, was standing behind her with a forlorn look on his face. Something awful must have happened if he looked so sad. "What is it Emerald?" Diamond asked in a slightly bored tone as he sat down on his throne. A strange happiness came to Emerald as she was finally able to say what she had wanted to for years. "Rubeus is dead and the Four Sisters, Prisma, Avery, Birdy and Catsy, have deceived us and taken sides with the Sailor Soldiers." Diamond nodded, suddenly understanding why Sapphire was so upset. "I see, Emerald. Then it is time for you to take over where he left off, Emerald. Don't make the same mistakes he did!" "Yes, my Prince! As it happens, Wiseman has informed me of a new way to open the gate that will allow our army to enter the twentieth century and change the future. I will start first thing in the morning, and begin infecting the 'Negative Energy Points.' It will take me quite a bit of time to get the first one set up, but after that, I can have these things going with in a day. The first one is a nearby doctors office," she said with a hideous laugh at the end.
