As you should know by now, BSSM was created by Naoko Takeuchi. She was born on March 15, a Pisces with Type-A blood. Her parents are named Kenji and Ikuko and she has a brother named Shingo. (Sound familiar?) She lives in Aazbu Juuna, Tokyo, the same place that BSSM takes place. She is married to Togashi Yoshihiro, a manga artist. In January 2001 they announced the birth of their baby boy in Young-You magazine. Some other manga by Takeuchi are PQ Angels, Miss Rain, The Cherry Project, and Codename wa Sailor V.
The whole idea for BSSM was started when Naoko said she would like to write a manga about "allies of justice". Her editor suggested "sailor-suited allies of justice." Naoko wrote Code Name wa Sailor V and it was decided to expand the story. Aino Minako was originally planned to be the main character, but the Naoko decided to create another character, Tsukino Usagi, the moon princess. Toei Animation decided to create an anime based on the manga. It was originally going to end after the first season, but it was so successful they decided to keep it going.
